Re: Had a lil Photoshoot again =P

i feel like you haven't gotten many responses because all the pictures are very very repetitive. meaning the same angles of the car over and over again. don't upload every single pic you took during the shoot, we don't wanna see them. you gotta go thru the pics and pick out the best ones (lets say of the profile of your car. only upload one, not all 17 of them)

you could easily narrow this entire shoot down to 5-6 of the best pics.

Agreed. Every time I go shoot I might get 30 pics but I always sit down and narrow it down to the ones I like the best.

Now I'm no photo expert so take my advice for what you will, but here goes:

You always want to be sure that the car (or whatever it is you are shooting) is in frame. Take for instance the sepia shot with the power lines (the first one, with your cars ass outta frame, #13 if you're counting from the top. ). For me that looks like a spot with great potential, just remember the rule of thirds: photography rule of thirds - Google Search I would have set my car about where you did but I may have moved a bit closer and to the right and maybe taken the shot closer to ground level, say 2 feet off of the ground. That way the car would be in one third and the power lines in the other 2/3s. But the car would have been bigger and in the foreground, therefore still being more prominent than the powerlines. The way you have the shot set up just kind of blends everything into one. its hard to tell what it supposed to be the focal point of the shot...IMO

And remember that when you have things like power lines and such that are a lot bigger than your car if you try to get them all into the shot then you're more likely to sort of push your car outta the picture. As the power lines and such will pull the viewer's attention much more than the tiny little car in the corner will.

Hope that helps some, I'm sure more people here whom I typically look to for advice will comment soon enough. Fresh lude btw, can't wait to see it with the front lip!
Overall I like your pics, just try think about where your car is in relation to other things. Random poles sticking out behind the car can be distracting and filling up the frame with other things can be misleading in a way. OH and don't try to go out and make EVERY single shot you take the best shot ever. Just go have some fun, put some thought into each shot and play around with things.

i totally forgot about the rule of thirds. i learned about that once in school. I'm gonna have to ask my dad for some advice cause his dad was a photographer and my dad was gonna be one. thanks for the advice though, that makes perfect sense and i will have to remember that on my next shoot!
