Spring mods!!

Hey everyone, just thought I'd share my latest mods/additions to the ride, nothing major but here it is:

-MB Weapon's mounted, balanced, and installed.
-Tanabe front strut bar
-Tanabe rear strut bar
-A couple minor engine pieces: PWJDM Reservoir Tank Covers and PWJDM Blue VTEC Solenoid Cover

And the suspension/braking work begins... also will be doing Tanabe tie bar, Tanabe sway bar, Tokico HP struts, EBC 3GD or USR Blackdash dimple & slotted rotors, and Hawk HPS or OEM brake pads

Oh yeah and give me your opinion on the front strut bar in terms of if I should paint it, the red kind of throws things off in the engine bay, I was thinking of painting it dark gray (like the color of the intake). My g/f doesn't think I should cause I guess all Tanabe suspension parts come in red and I'd be ruining it. dunno... Enjoy!

Re: Spring mods!!

ahh, those nice bronze mb weapons.
as for the strut bar in the engine bay, keep it red, it pops out at you in a good way, adds a nice touch to the bay overall. and they kinda match the tailights and PWJDM reservoir covers. battery could be relocated though haha.

Re: Spring mods!!

haha, not sure about a battery relocation, never really thought of it, thanks for the comments though.

I'm glad you guys are giving me feedback on the strut bar color, I didn't really have an opinion so I'm glad you guys are swaying me towards keeping it the way it is. And yeah I'll definitely detail the car the next time I take pics, next pics will probably be at the CT meet . Not sure about ROTM haha seems hard to get but it would be cool.

yeah, a bit dusty. Plus did I see some surface rust on the rear wheel quarter panel area. Don't let that get away from you. Once that rust sits in, it goes quickly.

I'm definitely on top of that Rob. I'm saving up right now to get that fixed before next winter. It's gotten so bad underneath where you're suppose to jack the car up on the rear, it's gotten so weak there that I can't jack the car up on that spot. I fixed the rust on the other side but I'm going to have my body shop fix the driver side rust, sometimes it's just easier to have the pro's do it, plus I'll know it's done right.

So true, yeah I hate that my 3rd Gen got rust real bad and a huge whole in the quarter panel. I sold it about three years ago for $600. I think it comes from that small rubber sleeve that slides over the metal back there our 5th Gens have it too. Thing is I guess the adhesive fails and then the water gets in there and does all the damage. I guess before it gets rusty you should remove those clean them and reapply the adhesive and re attach them.

I actually already removed that rubber sleeve, but I think the car was too far in the rust stage. But hopefully after paying the big bucks it should be cancer free for a while.
