New Shoes For the Lude....

Latest update since my last set of pics is the lude got some new shoes!! picked up a set of Prodrive GC-05a 16x7 w/ 195/45/16 goodyear f1's on em. now my next mission is of course is to slam the car or at least get rid of the wheel gap. anyways i took these pics while on the way home from an rsx/8th gen civic meet out in farmingdale.

i also need to pick up either some exhaust tips for this muffler or just get a nice shiny new muffler w/ polished dual tips. anyways enjoy the pics and i will be updating again once i get my usdm foglights mounted and wired up and i lower the car....whiever comes first.

Re: New Shoes For the Lude....

Saw the rims in person, they look sick. Can't wait until you drop it Stefano. It going to be a fun summer. I saw at the car show a bunch of people commenting on your lude. The look on there faces was priceless. Keep it up buddy.

Like what for example? He was going to buy set of white rims that I liked but it didn't fall through. Have you notice from 3rd gens and down the rim patterns (to me) look nothing like the 4th gens and up pattern.

i was gonna pick up a set of cf-48's but the chick that had em disappeared till after i bought these. besides im happy with getting 16's versus the 14's i would ahve had w/ the cf-48's. plus the wider rim 16x7 vs 14x6 allows me to throw wider tires on the car.

i havent ruled out picking up more rims later on down the line but these are more than good enough for the first set on this car. my main priority now is just lowering it and getting the other stuff i have bought put on.

You could just pull the muffler off the car and brush it down with some red scotch bright pads. It'll remove any and all rust and bring it to a SATIN finish. If you want a polished finish, just get some metal polish and go to town. It'll pull the satin finish right out. I used to be a professional metal refinisher (elevator doors, hand rails, door knobs, elevator cabs, etc...) it works great and its REAAAAALLLYYY cheap to do with a little elbow grease.

I have before and after pics of mine, I'll post em up ASAP.

Edit: --- P.S. if you want a HIGH mirror finish, you'll need some metal polish, a drill and a bonnet. The high speed will bring it to a high mirror finish quickly, however you'll notice some haze in the mirror finish when you're done. Finish polishing by hand to remove what's left of the hazy swirls.

Re: New Shoes For the Lude....

This works really well. It took literally 5 minutes to complete. If you want the finish to last a little longer and be a lot easier to clean, throw on some type of high temp clear cloat. -- You can always strip the clear coat later if you need to refinish it again.

It worked really well on the back window trim as well. I picked this car up with 210k, there's lots of rust.

If it's PITTED really bad (not smooth, you can see an almost orange peel effect in the metal), you'll have to keep working at it. Just have to bring the metal down in the thousandths of an inch range, and it'll come out smooth enough to polish well and get a good finish on it. OH, and be sure to tape off any areas that you don't want completely scratched to hell ;] I actually painted this trim piece black afterward and it came out great.

Re: New Shoes For the Lude....

there are no tips on the muffler. and Honda doesnt carry them anymore. so instead of trying to polish the bare metal that is the muffler itself i would rather just buy a muffler already polished that is also high flow.

when i got it i just sprayed over the tips in flat black high temp after sanding off the tad bit of rust that was forming.
