I just built a 94 prelude body with a 2000 h23 vtec engine new pace setter headers and exhaust, new intake and all new pulleys, better and bigger hoses and fans and all new suspension and drilled and slotted rotors, i was wanting to see what it's got against another lude or whatever, and compare with other h22's ,, anyone down let's run, and any advice on the car please let me know

Re: 94 prelude with 2000 h23 vtec motor I just built

nice swap, i'm about to do the f20b vtec swap in my 4th gen, wut ecu did u decide to run? and it should be a direct drop in since it is a h series engine, any f-h series engine will drop into a 4th gen,"not considering the f20c" and the major thing u would have to worry about would be the ecu and if your car was not wired for vtec u would have add the wiring, another would be if u use a obd2 engine in a obd1 car "4th gen lude" then u would have to use a different ecu and other common knowledge stuff.

Re: 94 prelude with 2000 h23 vtec motor I just built

the h23 vtec motor was made in 98 till 2000 i think, If you look up the history of the h23 vtec it comes from japan out of the accord wagon, i had no prob dropping it in didn't need to move anything, just had to use my old power stearing pump, and mount, yeah it's an auto, i used my old h22 tranny just to save on money, later down the road i'm wanting to drop in a manual. But so far it's quick enough so i don't get into to much trouble.. and pull's great when i get on it a little.

Re: 94 prelude with 2000 h23 vtec motor I just built

yeah i know but i have the overdrive pulleys and set it up so it runs like a stick on the role just not off the line. It would be a beast if it was a manual. i'm prob going to drop one in by the summer, i'd really like to see what it's got against another lude or anything really.

you guys are correct, about the USDM h23 NON vtec anyways.
but the JDM h23 Vtec(blue top) was produced up until 2000, for the jdm awd accord wagon. *btw iirc its basically a h23 bottom end with a type s/euro r head.. from the factory

Yes i am a noob, as tho i believe everyone was at one point!! and i was askin bc of the pictures i was just making sure i was correct, and the h23vtec did come in the accord wagon and is only a jdm engine, and just like rebel luder stated its just a h23 bottom end and a h22 head " like the frankenstein build that some like to talk about" just have to add some oil squirters if u do decide on the frankenstein build. and maybe some other lil things,

Re: 94 prelude with 2000 h23 vtec motor I just built

yeah i'm happy with the engine so far, i drove it to Ohio for christmas and it felt great up and back home to georgia, I deff can feel a diff in the low end torque and the top end is'nt much diff than the h22 just sounds a little louder but that's mainley my exhaust but i'm sure the engine puts out more. and it seems to have a very long gear setup but she's fast. for an auto anyways, I had an eagle tallon tsi with awd and a turbo and it was a five speed and this feel just as fast on the top end just slower off the start. and the body gets really nice and tight at about 80mph
