My First Custom Spark Plug Cover!!!

Yeah so today i decided i was going to make my spark plug cover match my cars theme...BLACK AND RED...so i went out got heat resistent paint and started my process..the cover is black with the H emblem being red as well as the HONDA being red. Again this is my first customization so dont be too critical please...I think it turned out pretty damn good, although ive always been alittle more partial to the flat or MATT look but yeah i like it. Took me about 3.5 hours to do.

AND NOW HOW DOES IT LOOK GUYS...

getting the plenum off would be too much of a pain just to paint it IMO. and it looks fine how it is.(not to mention you would need some new gaskets...I'd leave that alone...but thats just me..) paint the heat shield using vht high heat, and give her a good clean.

Some people also paint the heat shield bolts and rad supports in a contrasting color...just to throw that out there.

Good things to clean that will make a WORLD of difference: Vavle cover, top hats/surrounding areas, radiator hoses, air intake( probably a good idea to take it off and clean it REALLY good), and any other exposed areas that just scream WASH MEH! if you clean your bay really good then you will only have to touch it up every few months or less. Hope that helps maen.

OH and the underside of the hood. that really make a difference. no one notices a clean one, but man will a dirty one stick out!

^ thats what my bay looked like when I bought the car...sooo yea...not quite as dirty as yours, but you can see what a bit of elbow grease and simple green will do for ya...

Re: My First Custom Spark Plug Cover!!!

Nice cover, and that's one clean bay, Lazer!

You could just paint the heat shield with high-heat paint (is that what you did, Lazer?)

You might not want to just take it off entirely; it does trap in heat, after all.

Indeed I painted it. VHT high heat, Black. I have a small run on it from a bad boo boo I made, but it looks a ton better.
