My new 2005 Scion tC...check it!

Hey guys, I know last time I posted on here I had the midori green integra, but that car had some serious stories behind it and i couldn't keep it. It was beautiful though...

Anyway, now I decided to just go for something newer and nicer with low miles that will be dependable through college...so, without further ado, my 2005 Scion tC:

So yeah, there's my new baby.
Here's what I've got done so far:

Exterior:
Silver Streak Mica paint
Lowered on TRD shocks/struts and Hotchkins springs
Silver eyelids
Lightly smoked headlights
Limo Tint rear 3 windows
Black front grilles
Rear emblems shaved and paint matched.
Rear tC emblem relocated to front grille
Aftermarket flush-mount spoiler
'08+ Taillight swapped
s2k stubby antenna
Scion B-pillar applique
Full led 3rd brake light (smoked)

Interior:
Full blue led gauge conversion
Full blue climate control and clock led conversion
Blue led bulbs in map light, dome light, and rear hatch
Blue led above your feet on passenger and driver side
Short throw shifter with bushings and ****...done right
Black cloth shift boot
Pioneer headunit
Polk audio custom tweeter setup in rear C-pillars
Razo pedals and dead pedal cover

Engine:
Bone Stock 2.4L VVT-i

Drivetrain:
ACT 6-puck racing clutch
Lightweight flywheel
TRD LSD

Future mods:
Megan Drift Spec catback
Injen Intake
Header (not sure what brand yet)
Black fog lights
6000k HID's
CF Valve Cover
Factory Option 10'' sub/amp
Factory Option tC door sills
Smoked mirror turnsignals
TRD supercharger

What do you guys think?

nice tC. i myself have a 2006 scion tC and i love it. you can't really hear the vvti under normal driving conditions. if you give a bit more gas you'll notice the vvti.

nice tc...

u do know the trd supercharder only runs at like 5psi right... imo u could get more out of it for the same price u would spend on the s/c but warranties are nice too

Re: My new 2005 Scion tC...check it!

the TRD supercharger is a pretty nice power adder, but its a bit overpriced for what you get. if you want more bang for your buck, you could throw in a turbo kit but then again, a lot of engine modding would be necessary if you wanna' make your engine safe for running boost.

Re: My new 2005 Scion tC...check it!

They're too boxy for me so I haven't seen a Tc that I really liked... but if you like it, it doesn't look riced if that's the feedback you're looking for, lol.
I agree with Neck though, you need boots no matter what.

Re: My new 2005 Scion tC...check it!

Clean Tc! I bet it was a very nice raise in insurance! Yea forget their crappy supercharger and get a nice turbo for it. My friend has one and he is building his turbo and also is getting a 6k race motor built for it. He told me that the Tc also has quite a bit of understeer so you should get sways asap!

Re: My new 2005 Scion tC...check it!

idk, my prelude was automatic so it was slow as balls and had zero torque whatsoever. I know that this tC would dominate my old prelude, but idk about a decent 5spd prelude. I can definitely feel the torque difference in the tC though. It's way more fun to drive*

*I still miss my prelude like crazy though

Prelude > tC, my friend has an 08 tC and my 5spd lude is faster. By a lot.

x2 tc's do have alot of torque but lack in the top end... sry the crappy vvti is a gas mileage thing... not a performance thing... i work at toyota so i drive them around alot

yeah i forgot to add it looks pretty sick.

I can't convince my friend to lower his tC, i will show him these pics then maybe he will.

the ride height with the gap between the wheels is stupid ugly when they are stock.

Re: My new 2005 Scion tC...check it!

thanks for the positive comments guys. i do really love the car, and being a daily driver i'm not entirely concerned with speed. because with speed comes the urge to go way too fast all the time. i'm really happy with it as a DD. It's way roomier than the prelude was and people can actually fit in the back seats comfortably. Plus the back seats even recline! not to mention my love for the full glass roof and HUGE panoramic sunroof. :) She's a sexy little car IMO.

Re: My new 2005 Scion tC...check it!

Looks good. I like the tc s. Any of the x lineup is just gross. Don't waste your money with the factory supercharger. I come from a Toyota background and they TRD engine performance is quite overpriced and under deliver. They are mild enough to retain a factory warranty while installing forced induction on a N/A based engine. Not to sound cliche but turbo it. And vvti isn't anything like vtec. It doesn't mechanically adjust the valve's lift or duration. It is essentially vaccum advanced ignition timing, welcome to 1970! Lol! I'm a big Toyota truck fan and during the cash for clunkers if the lude got less mileage it would have turned into a tc.
