We did 12 coats of black, clear coated it twice, then for the "DOCH VTECH" and the "HONDA" we caked it on over the black, and clear to take the place of 12 coats and did 4 cake ons (using a paint brush) then did 3 coats of clear and let it idle for 10 minutes, sit for 45 then drove it for 2 and a half hours, let it sit 20 min drove it about 10 min let it sit an hour and now its baked on nicely (the picture of the after is before we let it idel so it is brighter now)

Re: newly painted valve cover!

Nice, I painted my old H22A2 cover in red:
brushed:
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/d...sparuostas.jpg

Painted, not smooth surface:
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/d...tisraudnas.jpg

But after that I bought H22A8 engine. That original red valve cover is the most beautiful for me :)

Re: newly painted valve cover!

looks good, I personally wouldn't pick that color scheme, a bit too much going on for me( I think its the white that throws it off for me...)

Oh and ftr, add around your link if you want the pics to show up in the post...

Re: newly painted valve cover!

I just painted my spark plug cover and am kinda dissapointed with the shade of red. not as bright as I would have liked.... I would like to get an aluminium red anodized one like someone has on here but cant remember who. But it looks good man... You can deffinitely see the effort put forth...

thanks, for the spark plug cover, i screwed up so bad on it....i had to use a entire can of break cleaner to strip it and a T-shirt to clean it -.- then i had to start over and then the wind blew and got dirt on it when we had just sprayed on the last of the black we had -.-

spark plug covers are a pain to paint!
