5th gen just recently remodeled this month

Hey guys,

Todd here and I am new to the forum so I figured I would post a few pictures. I started out moding my lude back in 06. Looked real clean took home a few trophies and then I had a hit and run in a parking lot that the insurance company figured $700 would cover the $5000 candy paint job I had. Took me awhile to recover from the damages, but I finally got it back and better than before so here she is.

Hope you enjoy!

Re: 5th gen just recently remodeled this month

Well, since you asked, Imma be honest.

PERSONALLY, I'm not a fan of body parts molded to the body. No lines makes it look like a boat and not a car. The kit itself is a little bit extreme for me and I don't like altezzas on a 5th gen. Stock and/or smoked stock is sexy on a dark car.

Now, onto what I do like. The wheels are great. I'd like to get some similar for my car. The trunk sort of makes it look like an S2000, which is cool. I really like the reflection of the paint in the first pic as well. I can also see that a lot of hard work went into it. Hit and runs are a PITA and the people who do they fall in line with thieves, which I hate more than anything, cause they leave people with either the whole bill of repairing the car or causing their insurance to go up and still have to pay. Although I don't like the filled in body lines, I can also see that it was done very well cause usually you can see where the lines are anyway. You certainly didn't cheap out, which is always good when building a car.

Re: 5th gen just recently remodeled this month

hmmmm, this isn't cardomain bud we dont really rate things here in stars, if you like it thats cool, but i dont think i would have molded in the kit, it's not bad for a show car but for a daily its not too good of an idea.. could use to be dropped a couple inches too but if you do that you might mess some stuff up...

Re: 5th gen just recently remodeled this month

Yea I dont plan to race it at all. I just do shows. Everyone tells me to drop it, but where I live there is no way I could drop it without tearing the body kit to pieces. But you are correct about every day driving, so I bought a truck to fix that problem.

Wow i love that trunk. the body kit is ok but a little extreme for my taste. rims and hood and paint looks good though! also not a fan of the tail lights.

Re: 5th gen just recently remodeled this month

not a fan of the body kit but I love how it's all molded, I think that looks really nice. If you got the OEM kit and molded it that would have been killer!! Not a big fan of the head/tail lights but I do like the paint job and CF parts. For a show car it looks really good, nice work.

Re: 5th gen just recently remodeled this month

Haha well it seems everyone hates the body kit. Just keep in mind it IS a show car. I have one first place at NOPI Nationals in Atlanta, GA and 3 first place trophies at import face off along with a 2nd place due to them putting me in a class with s2000's. I am thinking of buying an s2000 to do strictly engine work though. Unless I could find an SH around here.

I like it...I just look at it as everything is beautiful in it's own way. So for a show car I think it looks awesome, as a performance street car however, not so awesome...

Re: 5th gen just recently remodeled this month

Yes the carbon fiber is sprayed with hologram pearl as well. If you look at the duct in the hood and the flat top of the trunk they are also painted the same color as the car. OH and as far as the first place at Nopi goes here is your proof. Its the same car, but just before I wrecked it and get it remodeled and I actually think it looks 10 times better now than before I'll put a few pics up.

First Place at Nopi Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia

3 first place 1 for best honda mild, 1 for best prelude, 1 for best interior

Heres just a few pics to show you how much different it looks...I wish I had pictures of the damage that was done.

This is also a pic of what the interior looks like right now. Corbeau AT4 micro suede seats, harnesses, and an NRG harness bar, with a back seat delete kit

Well dude NOPI just isnt all fast and furious they have like hundreds of classes. I won in the 5th gen mild section. Above that is wild class and thats people that have just about everything moded. Most of the people that go there for speed are racing. If I'm not mistaken they may even have a JDM Honda class I am not sure since NOPI decided to quit for the past 2 years. What I am trying to say is they have a class for everyones style.

I do welcome criticism, the only way to find faults is to get views from the outside!

Re: 5th gen just recently remodeled this month

It's very different, which I like. Dissapointingly not many people do different things on fifth gens so this is a refreshing change. The colour is great, and like all good black bodywork reflects everything around it. The trunk extention is very reminiscant of an M3 CSL, and another unique aspect. Wheels suit it perfectly, and while I don't like the taillights, they almost look at home there.

Re: 5th gen just recently remodeled this month

At first I was sort of thrown off by the bodykit. BUT after lookin at all the pictures a couple times I keep seeing new details every time! The paint on the lid is SICK! how you accented the top of the spoiler on the lid is an amazing touch that is soooo subtle. Man, I don't care I like the car, although I do think you could have gone one wheel size higher to make up for it not being lowered...either way the only thing that I really dislike is the altezzas...I think tinted stock would look SO MUCH BETTER. I love those headlights and really dig the interior. For a showcar I think its awesome, so much attention was paid to the details to me it doesnt matter that it isn't what I would do to my car, it still deserves, and has earned my respect.

To tell you the truth I love that "sparkliness" wish I kinda had it on my car a bit, but around here people would probably hit my car ahahhaa
