1900 mile road trip and the car

So I went on a road trip for 8 days 7 nights, went to the California coast on 36 West which is extremely twisty. Was up in Oregon for 6 days as well, hiked in a bunch of places and had to take some pictures of the car on the way!

The start of 36 west out of Red Bluff, CA.

Along the coast on Hwy 101 somewhere.

A fairly large Redwood tree in the redwood national park, you definitely wouldn't want to hit one of these...

At Patrick's Point campground at the coast.

Taken on hwy 36 West.

Nah, its actually a pretty good road as far as the condition its in. There is one portion of the road that the divider goes away but its still wide enough in most places for 2 vehicles side by side. Lots and lots of banked turns, in one area there is a turn that goes about a 200 degree sweeping turn to the right on a banked corner at about 70mph followed into another long sweeping turn to the left.

Very nice, I took that route about a year ago from here on the WA coast all the way down to Eureka. Very nice drive, 101 does have some major curves.

After driving 36 west, the curves on 101 were nothing, it was laughable at best. Luckily 36 west towards the coast is generally empty and you rarely get stuck behind traffic.

Re: 1900 mile road trip and the car

I went to the west coast, went from about 150 miles south of the CA/OR border into Washington along hwy 101 over the course of a few days, then stopped in Portland for a few days, went over to the columbia river gorge to hike to the waterfalls. Drove from the Gorge and Mt Hood area down to crater lake, and then back to the oregon coast at Florence because weather was bad at the lake. Then drove back home to CA on I5.

Between the locations it was anywhere from 200 to 300 miles between stops on average and after getting lost a few times it all added up to 1900ish lol
