Death to potholes!!!!

I had a bad week last week.. haven't posted on here in a while.. i've been too busy with this bangin little 21 year old.. lol. makes my car problems not hurt so bad.. i'm 28 btw.. way too much fun.. ha..

but anyways..

my brand new half shaft went bad in 6000 miles.. FAIL!!!

and then on the trip back.. fun times

i hit a pothole doing 90 ish in the dark...

oh i love it.. so yeah.. my car is uber ghetto right now..

i'm rolling around with my summer rims up front and my winters in the back...

SEXY!!

any thoughts?? i've been given quotes from 150-200.. should i just find a new rim?? probably around 300 for a new one.. if i can find it.. they don't make these anymore :(

Re: Death to potholes!!!!

Man that sucks. I been there before. Hit a pothole in the dark and they did not make my rims anymore (Racing Hart S15). Had to buy a new set of rims. Thank God I still had my blades. If they don't make them anymore, rock the Winter rims and save up for some new rims you want. Good luck. Car is looking great by the way.

Re: Death to potholes!!!!

same thing happened to me last year. naturally my rims were retired as well. luckily i found some guy who could aluminum weld them, which was a pretty awesome $40 fix....here's a pic of my pothole damage:

Re: Death to potholes!!!!

Id rather hit potholes than the **** repairs then do in my town. I've seen pre-schoolers do a better job. It knocked my front end out of alignment on my old Accord.

Re: Death to potholes!!!!

haha oh man, I'm sorry to hear what happened...but it's soo funny cause the same **** happened to me except I was only going like 45 in mad seattle rain plus snow on the freeway and next thing I heard was "BAM!" then had to pull to the side except there was no shoulder since I was already gettin off the freeway and had to drive 5mph off the ramp and drive to a gas station and eff'd my rim up to a point there is no way to fix it since the crack was all the way down about 5 inches and tires were busted. So I feel your pain and as every one says...Enkies do look better. :D

Re: Death to potholes!!!!

Potholes FTL. I like your winter Enkeis better anyway.

I've never had a pothole do that, and I've hit some pretty gnarly ones in the dark. I've had impact breaks on 2 of my Kumho Ecstas though...those suck too. lol.

Re: Death to potholes!!!!

lol if youre guna pay for new ones at least get a huge mallot with a block of wood....take the tire off and try to unbend it,,,if possible

then put the tire back on and maybe use some of that green slime stuff to avoid getting flats

We've done that before to one of my friends rims...worked quite well actually. Looked brand new...obviously the structural integrity of the rim was shot buttttt if you sell it, the buyer won't know that.
