Re: Got tired of dumping money into the prelude--

That's three of the four honda's that I really want, Prelude (my 5th), S2K and 08/09 Accord V6 coupe. Only things missing is the NSX (I know it's called ACURA here in the US ).

Thanks bro! Yea man I've probably got about $10,000 into my prelude if I added up everything I've spent on it in the last year and a half. and at the end of it all I still have no working A/C and I dont feel comfortable with it to go on a 4 hour trip each way.

I know I've been back and forth with a lot of different options lately but I think this will work best for me. Like another poster above, my dream car and the only one I'm willing to spend ass loads of money on is an NSX.

I was close to pulling the trigger on a 2003 Imola Orange one that I was simply in love with and then I realized that 3 completely impractical cars weren't the way to go right now.

I thought of getting a new or slightly used 3 series coupe but decided hat I didn't want to spend 35k+ on a car that I wasn't REALLY IN LOVE with.

The accord has a damn good amount of power, all kinds of toys, looks great etc... I figure it will serve me well for 5-6 years. The kinda car I can get in and drive without any kind of thought to reliability or worrying about anyone screwing with it like I am when I take the S2000 out.

The S2000 will remain the garage queen. The prelude I will work on in my spare time. I throw ass loads of money into it beacuse I have no time to learn how to fix things myself followed by diving into the projects myself. This way I can work on it in my own time and hopefully learn a lot as I go.

The Accord is thew new DD, and I must say as much as I love it, I'm already itching with the mod bug on it.

Thanks for all the props guys!

Sorry bro, it is a 2009 Accord EX V6 Coupe, Automatic, With navigation. I was going to go for the 6spd but like I said its a DD. The ECM (where it shuts down half the cylinders) is only available witht he Automatic. Also I wanted my g/f to be able to use it whenever she wanted. I figured when I wanted to row my own gears I'd just take out the s2000.

LoL Most of those things in that long post are still true. It will just take a lot longer and now I actually have the chance to learn what I'm doing and do most of it myself. The problem was that when anything went wrong with the prelude, out of necessity for the car I had someone else fix it (dealer, other shop) and I didn't learn ****, and I was dumping money into it.

As far as the industry, I'm licensed in 47 out of 50 states so I'm not limited to only Florida right now which is getting hammered mostly right now.

The credit crunch though isn't as bad as the news will tell you though. Its simply not as easy as it was to get stuff done in the last few years.

I'm still around beacuse I never put someone into a house that didn't deserve to qualify, and I never qualify them for more than they can afford.

Credit is out there, and as long as you can prove yourself as a worthy borrower its relatively easy to get.

The problem is there isn't as many worthy borrowers out there given the job losses.

I'm still doing pretty well right now (knock on wood)-- as long as it doesn't get much worse before it starts to get better, I should be okay!

The accord is my only car payment, as I just paid off for my S2000. Took advantage of the 3.9% the dealer was offering over 60 months, which I hope to pay off much sooner than that.

My first mods are on its way for the Accord--- 6500k headlights and foglights. Should be here by Friday for a weekend install.

Re: Got tired of dumping money into the prelude--

Yeah, it really isn't too bad.
Most of the credit crunch is from banks granting loans to people who could never pay it back and now the credit card problem which was their own fault. 32% interest? They should be in jail. I was getting "pre-approved" credit card offers in the mail before I was even out of high school and just tore them up.
There's people making money off the recession though. Things will pick up though cause it's just an economic cycle.

Anyway, nice pick up.

just stick with a new intake on the accord. ;)

I love your way of thinking. You seem to have it thought out, and i applaud u. I hope you don't get so comfy with the accord that you lose interest in the Lude.

Re: Got tired of dumping money into the prelude--

Nice collection u have there! So is the lude u daily driver now? I like the accord.

I've been wanting to get a better (automatic & gangsta) DD b/c my lude has worst gas mileage than the Z and the Z is about to not get any gas mileage! lol (E knows)

I'm a big Honda and Nissan guy so the NSX is my dream car too and i'll prob never spend the money to get a Skyline or GTR.

I love your way of thinking. You seem to have it thought out, and i applaud u. I hope you don't get so comfy with the accord that you lose interest in the Lude.
Yea I'm probably gonna go with an AEM CAI w/Bypass, but thats likely it in terms of performance mods.

Xenon Head/fog lights, LED tails are already on its way...

H&R springs, Staggered 20" Work Varinaza T1's, HFP Body kit with a Ron Jon Front Lip, NAVTOOL w/DVD player, and full JL audio system in the future.

But thats it lol...

I wont lose interest in the lude, its there simply so that I can rip it apart and learn **** as I go. I wont do that to my S2000, and sure as hell wont do it to a brand new Accord, so belive me it still holds a purpose.

I've got so many projects that I've bought parts for that I haven't done on it yet. JDM power folding mirrors, Clear Glass 5th gen roof, all new energy suspension bushings, 94-95 Console, all just to name a few. I may even attempt to do my own fiberglass stereo enclosure, and prep it for paint myself.

I want to do the motor swap and build the H22 for turbo before I put it in myself too. Therefore got A LOT to learn, and now I have all the time in the world to do it beacuse I dont have to depend on using it everyday.

The accord v6 gets great mileage! drove it from orlando where I bought it to fort lauderdale and did around 36mpg I belive. Granted I wasn't dawging it out cuz it was still being broken in, but the VCM shut down 3 cylinders most of the way on cruise control. Quiet, comfortable, so freakin roomy inside for a coupe with a huge trunk too... honestly I have no compliants yet.
