Dropped! 56k - I warned you

Woot woot,

Sophie is getting low for me (not the first time a lady has done that)! I went down to a friends house and helped him with an engine swap he was doing in a mitsubishi galant, and he said he would help me with my suspension install! It took about 3.5 hours, but we were goofing around and sh!t while we were there. So I'm taking off the first strut and guess what I find?

KYB GR-2s Lol!
One of the previous owners (I'm #5) musta put these on here... And look at the bump stops that were on there. Anyone know what these are?

Anyways. The install went fine. It was kinda b!tch to get the rear struts out, but we finally got em out. Take a look at the difference.

Lemme know what you think? (Besides the fked up front bumper/hood)

Re: Dropped! 56k - I warned you

nice drop. those are regular bumpstops, nothing weird about them. your supposed to trim them depending on how low of a drop you go. i cut mine in half for a 2/2.25" drop.

Thanks for the compliment. For some reason I thought they were different ones. Will I be okay if I didn't trim them? I didn't have any trouble with the install.

if you feel your shocks bottoming out on big bumps, you'll know why. but if you don't, then don't worry about it.

It'll settle down a little bit to look more like the rears. Those pics are 5 minutes after the suspension was installed.

Hmm... I'm doing a garage day next weekend, I'll probably trim em there.

im lowered 2-2.5 and they don't bottom out with them whole...
i wouldn't worry about it..
i've never heard of anyone cutting them.

I was trying to figure out why you car still looked kinda high for 1.5 drop, then i looked at your tires, the Rear wheel well is why i went with 205/45/16. too scared of rubbing, which resulted in my car being even lower...

Re: Dropped! 56k - I warned you

looks great alex! nice work

get used to the height though. it won't settle much at all. i installed the same exact setup and while i love the drop in the rear the front is way to high. everyone was saying it'll settle, it'll settle. but it barely does.

what nick posted about trimming the bump stops i have never heard of. but i will be trimming mine and hope it does the trick.

all in all you will be very happy w/ the new set up. the Eibach springs are great and the KYB AGXs are very nice as well.

let me know how it handles and what your opinion on the set up is!

How long do you all recommend waiting after installing new shocks/springs before getting the alignment? I've read people say let them settle but never how long to wait.

Thanks

Got the springs slightly used from a buddy down here (he went with coilovers) for $60 and I got the struts for $350 shipped off eGay. Sooo total of $410 not bad I guess!
