The PreludeAustralia.com Marysville Cruise

2000km. 200 litres of 98RON petrol. 500 text messages. 3 dozen energy drinks. Two H22 Preludes. 300 photographs. 7 videos. Four damaged cars. Three mates, and one blow up doll. Welcome everyone, to the coverage of Brash, VCobra and Watties' road trip to Marysville.

The cruise started with me fitting my new wheels at 6.30 Friday morning. When them fitted, and Watties picked up, we headed off from our base in Adelaide's north eastern suburbs bound for Melbourne, a distance of roughly 800km (500miles for those of you too lazy to work it out)

This first load of pics are from day 1, the drive up.

Molly slept most of the trip...

Now one of the best things about road trips is you get to take pictures of your car in front of all sorts of cool things...such as this

And this...

Shane getting wet...

And tunnellin'

More pics to follow. And in case anybody was wondering, yes I was one of the damaged cars. But more details on that later.

Day 2, the cruise itself.

I started the day at the carwash, so at least the car started clean!

A few from the initial meet

VCobra making an entrance...

Now this was the scene literally seconds after VCobra lifted his bonnet...

But then again, it does look like this under there...

Pics from the cruise. I should meniton that practically all the rest of the shots were taken by Watties in the passenger seat

Even filthy DMT's car still looks hot!

The scene of the accident. Despite all the unhappiness, Manabir got to touch snow for the first time

Up the middle of the East cost and in the mountains it does snow in the Winter, but our snow season is only about 9 weeks long, and this is pretty much the end of it.

Re: The PreludeAustralia.com Marysville Cruise

I only saw a thin blanket of it once, not enough to amount to anything. Well, I saw it in the Rockies a few years ago in the summer but couldn't go play in it since the mountains were closed.
Are those just winter rims or permanent?

Semi-permanent. The 17s are sold, because these were the rims I wanted initially. But if I can find a decent set of Advan RGs for reasonable money I'll snap them up. But I can't see that happenning any time soon.

There's a bit of a story behind Molly (the doll). Shane took her up to Marysville last year on a bit of a "we don't think you got the guts to drive up here with the blow up doll in your passenger seat..." and it sorta became a tradition, anytime he goes on a road trip she comes too.

They're ebay projectors, with HID hooked up. For some reason they don't look that bad when they're installed.

I tell you it's a different experience to ride in as well.

Thanks to all for the comments about the new rims, they don't look anywhere near that nice in person, and as a result won't look like that for much longer...but that's for another time...

Ok guys, the last of the pics, the drive home.

Of course we couldn't let you all think this was a serious photoshoot!

The scenery looks pretty much like this the whole way...

So we hooked this up...

I assure you all, we were stationary, and I used a computer to put the needle there...honest!

Of course it wouldn't be a PA event without some grabbing action either!

And just before we got home

Go right ahead mate, it's not like I invented the idea of a badge along the rear edge of a side skirt...I just think I was the first to put it on a Prelude.

And yes, it was one fun trip. Loved just about every minute of it.

So I take it all you did was get the badge from the back of two Preludes and put them on the side skirts of your car? That's the way I was gonna do it, and with almost everyone removing their badges because they either don't want people to see the "honda" symbols, or they want their car to be totally clean and shaven - I think I would have no problem finding one more badge and then taking mine off and using that (I plan on gettin a new rear bumper anyways, mine's a lil beat to hell)

Hell - maybe 98BB6SH still has his!

I bought two new ones. Good luck getting the badges off an existing car and being able to use them again.

Not a BMW, a VE Commodore. Sold in the US as Pontiac G8

Re: The PreludeAustralia.com Marysville Cruise

Ok so is it that I'm a fan of your car so much that I notice something wrong with your rear bumper?

*EDIT: Its the third pic on the 20th post.

Rep for that, you have a very good eye. Car was hit up the backside while on the cruise, and from the side that's the only evidence. If you look really closely you can see the rear guard is slightly bowed as well.

Thanks for the compliment Bill, I try my best. Of course I can't take all the credit here, as I didn't take most of the in car pics...

Melbourne is where we were for this cruise, and is about a 9 hour drive from me, I'm in Adelaide. Imagine a line right down the centre of the country from north to south, and where it meets the southern coast is where I am. If you make it over here let us know and I'll put something together.
