Aluminum Flywheels

I want to put an aluminum flywheel on my 5th gen, but I dont know anyone who has one, I really want one but one thing that I want to know how durable they are, its aluminum so probably not very, but if anyone knows if they are good or not let me know, also I want to know a good brand to get?

I've heard nothing but good things about Fidenza flywheels. 10lb would be great, a lot of people say 8lb is too light for street use.

I have the Fidanza 8 lb and it I love it. If you are pushing over 400 HP, get the 12 lb Cromoly flywheel instead of aluminum. Otherwise the aluminum is more than strong enough. The only draw back to a LW flywheel is that launching is a bit trickier since the engine revs up so much faster. I recommend getting a good clutch and a new release bearing. for the bearing, you would be better off getting the actual OEM one from Honda. Also a true short shifter can save you some gear grinding until you get used to it if you are having trouble from driving "aggressively." As for everyday driving in stop and go traffic, it is different, but not bad once you get used to it. Hope this helps.

Yes that helps a lot, thanks, I need to replace my clutch anyway, so I figured to go ahead and get a flywheel, How long does a aluminum flywheel last before I have to replace it?

8lb is a PITA in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
but so far mine has lasted me 30K miles, 5K of those miles being boosted, and 3 different motors, so idk why your under the assumption that they're not very durable.

Aluminium is, but you'll find that the flywheels are an aluminium alloy rather than just aluminium. I could find out exactly what alloy, but I just cbf right now.

Fidanzas are made from either 6061 T6 or 2024 T3 aluminum

The hardness of aluminum isn't high but it's much stiffer than steel. The friction surface is made of steel which has a higher hardness so you essentially get the best of both worlds. Also I believe steel is much more likely to warp from heat.
