So my transmission just died. I can get a referb for 300. How much will it cost to have someone to do the swap??? Or is it something I can do myself?

Can be swapped out and swapped in, in one whole day. Well course cause my uncle has been doing this for years... but from what I was seein ya one to two days.
If you know how to take apart the suspension to to get axles out you've got half the work done already. These old cars have hard bolts to get off since they're old. You'll need to loosen the engine mounts so the transmission can slide out from under as well.
You'll need a good wide jack to get the old one out and the new one in. I forgot what it looked like as it wasn't mine. Maybe you can use a normal one with a flat wooden board on it. same concept ya know? Things (transmissions) are not too heavy, i was able to carry them around on my own. Shoot I don't remember how we went about putting it on though. . .it's weird cause the engine is at an angle right, so yeah i remember that's pretty difficult right there, trying to angle it so it bolts on right.
I had this done about 4 years ago now. . . wow, doesn't seem THAT long ago. . .
