okay so ive had my SC-3427E for like almost 2 years. its been through two motor builds and since nrg tech fried my pistons FOR THE LAST TIME.... it also killed my turbo... (metal in the oil) i need to find a bigger and better turbo. i was last tuned at no limit made 313hp w/ a dying turbo. Oil is pushing past the seal out of the compressor housing and clogging my pipes. im not in a huge hurry but i have tons of other things to get done on the lude and i just need an idea about what turbo i should go w/.
here are the specs. if any of you have experience w/ either turbo please share experiences.... it really looks to me like the only major factor is the price... and ball bearing vs chra bearing

SC-6376E 950-
Compressor Wheel Dia.: 63mm
Compressor Wheel Inducer: 2.476"
Compressor Wheel Exducer: 3.310"
Compressor Wheel Trim: 56
Compressor Inlet/Outlet Size: 3" / 2"
CHRA Bearing System: 360
Turbine A/R Ratio: 0.63
Turbine Wheel Style: T04
Turbine Wheel Inducer: 2.920"
Turbine Wheel Exducer: 2.420"
Turbine Wheel Trim:
Max. Rated HP: 700*

gt35r 1300-
compressor wheel diameter: 82mm
comp wheel inducer:
comp wheel exducer:
compress wheel trim: 56mm
inlet/outlet size:3"/2"
Ball bearing
turbine a/r ratio: 82 or 1.06
turbine wheel style:
turb wheel inducer:
turb wheel exducer:
turb wheel trim: 84
max rated hp: 680

those are few specs i found. im leaning towards the gt35r. any feedback or even if you know anybody selling one of these turbos for a good price let me know.

between the 2... GT35 R is the sexier choice. Its catching on big time like a fad, but it works very well. Dual ball bearing spins very easy, sounds really cool at idle even, spools faster, better middle power band, and typically produces less friction loss.

gt35r is definitely what im leaning towards. thanks for the input.

if you dont mind me asking what are ur power goals??

what internals do you have?

from what i have heard about the gt35 is that is a great turbo that can produce alot of power but when full boost kicks in it kicks in pretty HARSh. one thing to consider is that the gt35 is at its full potential in the high numbers like around 400.

i have been considering going with precision but i dont know much about the 63.

if just wanting a little over 300 look into the T3 super 60 a/r .63 its a good turbo for that power range and full boostt kicks it at around 3000rpm. A guy on pp.com used that turbo and got his numbers around 300 at only 6psi.

big turbos are cool but not if ur not shooting for BIG numbers. Power curve and usable power is what its about.

thats the turbo i have coming in a coupla days to replace the eGay t3/t4 :rock:

your not talkin about travis on PP are ya? cuz he only made 238/230 @ 6.2psi, but stock H23.

oh ok i forgot what he put down. ithought it was 300, i guess thats what travis's goal was or they were talking about turning the boost up when steve had a chance to tune it again.

and wasnt those numbers on a street tune?

either way imo unless this guys power goal is 500-700 gt35 is not the perfect turbo for his car.

okay well... motor is completely done head and block are completely built but still stock cams. ive already made 313hp w/ a blown precision sc3427e... im just going to get another 57 trim..... so i can at least put the power down and actual move not spin. my goal was 450- but i think its just tooo much... maybe its not if i get the hondata boost controller setup and tune for different psi on each shift.... maybe like first 10psi second 13psi and 3-4 18psi LOL... i dunno... but im gonna stick w/ a medium size turbo for now.
