Thius first one is really embarrasing...:o
My first "accident" is when I was 15. The parents weren't home so I decided to take my Accord joy-riding down a wet dirt road at 75 mph. I was coming around a curve, rear-end sliding around, amazingly I controlled it all the way through the turn but when it came to straighten back up, I turned the wheel too much and went towards the right side ditch, overcorrected that and hit the brakes and slid into that ditch. Luckily, somebody in a big 4X4 drove by and pulled me out. I drove home, washed all the mud off and nobody ever found out. :p
The 2nd one is a little different. I had just gotten my licence about 2 weeks prior to this. One of my best friends had just died after flipping his S-10 at 95 mph with no seatbelt and I was still messed up about it so I had no business driving anyway. A friend asked me for a ride home from shcool. I decided I was gonna take a turn kinda hard and let him see how good the car handles. Well, even today, I still take the 25 mph turn at 55 like its nothing but I went around it at 64 mph and went up into the other lane to avoid a pothole, pedal to the metal the whole way around, I cut the wheel back down to avoid running in the grass, The rear end starts sliding out, this time instead of hitting the brakes, I frickin' down shift and floor it, I think I have it save for about half a second then I just lose it. I slid perfectly between 2 trees with about 6 inches on both sides to give, and only ran over a bush. It tore out my turn signals aand scratched up the car a good bit but I know it could've been ALOT worse. On top of that, somebody saw me and came towards me, I panicked, fired it back up and took off. Cops got called and were already looking for me. After I racked myself, I went up to the police station to explain it all. I had speeding, reckless driving, destruction of public property, and leaving the scene of an accident against me. Amazingly, they understood what I had just been through with my friend and all so they let me off without a fine or anything and just told me to stay off the road for a week or so till I'm mentally ok to drive again. Since then, I've learned from my stupidity and drive alot more safely now. Looking at the skid marks, I realize how close I came to not being here today so my message to everyone, drive safely and responsibly and always, always, wear your seatbelt.

it sucks that we need to learn our lesson's the hard way, instead of taking it easy.
unfortunatly, some people AREN'T so lucky when they're turn comes :( (your friend in the S10)
but without a little risk, there would be no fun :D :D

Well I'm a pyro so you can assume alot of stuff I've done. I've also picked up a fasenation with guns lately, .45 and tech 9 are my weapons of choice, hehe. But yeah, less than a month after my friend (Ryan) in the S-10, another friend, Alecia, ran a stop sign and got hit so hard, it launched her in the ditch with no skid marks or anything. After Ryan, there were like 15 other wrecks within 2 months among the folks at shcool, including my incident, it was crazy.
What really sucks bout Ryan is that he always resented his father up until bout 3 weeks before his wreck. He was working really hard to build a bridge between them and so on. The day before the accident, his dad was yelling at him for being late to work, which is why he was going so fast when he wrecked. I can only imagine how it hurt his dad because of it. I still go see his mom from time to time. She's like a 2nd mom to me. :)

I guess we just take the small stuff for granted. Sucks when something like that happens though.

Too bad about your friend. I agree that we all do take the small things for granted. I am constantly telling my son that we can never leave the house while either one is mad at the other, and the same thing goes for him and his girlfriend or any of his friends, because you never know, it could be the last time you speak to them. I've had lots of friends die in wrecks and not just when they were racing. The streets are dangerous even under normal circumstances. Be careful out there.

Thats something me and my dad dont really have. When we get mad at each other, we usually just yell and end up just walking off before one lets their temper go too far. Usually after a lil while apart we're good but I have a tendency to leave and go to a friend's house, usually to vent so by the time I come back home, I'm alright. It's difficult to explain. We are closer than alot of fathers and sons but then again, we are so different, its hard to believe we do get along as much as we do.

Lol you americans don't blow up trees or what? Looks like me and Jesse have something in common OTHER than both being from Saskatchewan. Sadly the tree I blew up with a Molotov cocktail (something I didn't even know existed until AFTER I put the gasoline in the jar and sealed it with a fuse coming out) was in a city park and now I have the warning for arson to prove it.
Moral of the story. Go to the track if you want to drive your car fast and always wear a seatbelt.
