New Owner

Greetings to Members of PreludeZone,

I am the new owner of this forum community, bought over from Dave.
I've already introduced myself to the staff team here a week ago.

My name is Neon, 29 years old.
I am currently working as a Web Developer.

For the past week, i've check out this community, read some posts and interacted a little with the staff team.

I understand that there are some issues regarding the site to be solve and Dave are too busy with his personal stuff.

From the posts, i can feel that you are a dedicated bunch of guys which is the reason that makes this community alive.

I will try my best to facilitate and make this community works better.
Personally, i owned 3 other automotive forum communities.

Tremek.com (http://www.tremek.com/forum/) - Car Videos Forum, some of you might be interested or probably might even heard of it.

PTCruiserLinks.com (http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com) - One of the largest PT Cruiser enthusiasts community.

The other one is too negligible to mention.

My intention of this community is to grow it... hopefully... with my limited knowledge.
Even though Prelude was discontinued, i believe there are still alot of Prelude fanatics out there who needs a nice friendly community like here.

PreludeZone might not be able to be the largest Prelude community out there, but we can strive to make this one of the better Prelude community to be in.

PreludeZone has just migrated to a new server.
At the moment there might be some broken images. Over the next few days, i will try to fixed up the site.

Feel free to ask me questions or let me know of any critical complains.

Yes. I am driving a Lancer and from Singapore.

I dont think i will put up the old skin as this new major vbulletin version upgrade will make old skin obsolete. However, i will check out what skin to use next.


I havent play around with this new version yet. From what i see, there are some nice features. I will just briefly list them out.

Thread Tagging - facilitate searching and grouping of threads
Social Networking System
Public Messaging In Profile - Leave comments / message in members profile publicly
User Picture Galleries - Members can now create albums and upload pictures to their account
User-Created Social Groups - Members can create their own social/interest groups
Member Customization of Profile Page
Social Bookmarking of Threads (to digg, stumbleupon, etc)

Of course, we rarely ever need to use it. If anybody does do anything, it's usually bad enough that a ban is used so whatever.

I was like "what the F!!" then i checked the site news.....it's pretty cool i guess, i liked the black theme that we had though..it's easier to read cause the screne doesn't emit as much light.

Anyway, we've already talked on the skins. We're going to have a day and night version and the night will be the default since that's what we've used the whole time, and what seems to be the popular choice, just upgraded versions. :)

It used to be VERY bad. We literally were banning 2-5 people a day because of random spam. It'll get fixed, but Neo can only fix one thing at a time. Just don't click on it and you'll be okay.

and thats why this is the only lude site im on! im glad we have a new owner too! i haven't been able to get online PERIOD for the last week and then once my internetz started working again i couldn't get on PZ!

i'm sorry about the spammer issue...
i will re-add the necessary plugins, hope it will reduce the spams.

i'm sure as long as E and his team is here, you dont have to worry much about unfriendly staff.

At the moment, i will just put a header in this default skin.
After i've upgraded to the vbulletin stable version 3.7.0 (which speculate to be out in a week), i will try to look for suitable forum skin.

I liked the old skin from before, but considering we are gonna be getting upgrades and now have a better owner who is becoming involved with the people in the community he runs, i can see the future being better then what we had before. Not that i have been here for as long as most of you, but long enough to see that the change will be welcomed by all.

i will be shutting forum (about 10 hours later from now) awhile to upgrade.
Probably it will take 30 min.

it could be due to with the www (http://www.preludezone.com) and without the www (http://preludezone.com).
Eg. if you login (http://www.preludezone.com), then you somehow go to (http://preludezone.com) ... you are consider not login in (http://preludezone.com), due to the browser cookie management, it treats (http://preludezone.com) and (http://www.preludezone.com) as 2 different sites. So if you are login to both, you should stay login which ever url you visit.

And of cause, it also depends
- if your browser accepts cookie
- or did your browser clear cookies everytime you close browser
- or did you just run some anti-virus, ad-aware which clear away the cookies

Usually you should be able to stay login if you checked the Remember Me.
I have no problem. I am using FireFox.
