NEW PICS

Well I managed to get my hands on four 10" memphis subs a little while ago. My brother had them in his cadillac and had taken them out because he kept having alternator and battery problems or something. He sold his amp, and I offered to take the subs.

I only wanted two though, the lude is pretty tiny, and they fit farthest back in the trunk that way. So I began the process of sawing the box in half.... Each compartment in the box was individually sealled so one of the two boxes will have the extra wall, the one im keeping. =)

To make this short for you guys, I screwed a new piece of wood on the end of each box and only had to seal one of them. I used the carpet from one box to finish the other and then went and bought fleece for the one I'm keeping. And that's about it. He ended up only charging me $30, brother discount(He is keeping the other two subs and box). And I bought a 400w Memphis amp to go along with it.

The pictures explain the rest.

A couple questions though. I was thinking about putting the amp under my passenger seat. A friend put his there in his celica for security reasons. What do you think?

And how do I wire a switch to my amp? Just incase I don't want it running all of the time.

Alright I got them in and for 10"s they sound greattt. I resealed the box, put it in and wired it up. I get a little trunk vibration noise, i fixed the license plate but I havent looked into what else it is. I also posted the third pic so you can see the two switches I have behind the cupholder.

And just a tip, when I ran the power wire behind the fuse box. I drilled a tiny hole in the rubber grommet I took out and ran the power wire through it. So it makes a water tight seal and doesn't leak anything in.

Under the seat would be okay but your gonna have to do some wiring I always like to set mine right next the speakers but thats just me....you could go to an auto parts store and but a switch and just wire it in to the remote wire coming from the head unit...

As long as the amp isn't too tall you'll be right. I can't have mine under the seats since they're both so tall that when you sit down there's no airflow above the amp, which can be bad.

The other good thing about mounting under the seat is tha tyou only need to buy about half the power cable required to mount the amp in the trunk.
