i worked at UPS for 3years and ill tell you first hand that boxes are crunched, slammed, stepped on, dropped, and ALWAYS thrown!... theyre treated with no regard to whats inside..
I was often instructed by my supervisors to throw the boxes if i have too, just get it done quickly!!
on a side note...USPS just delivered my new valve cover and it was cracked!!!
so i feel your pain man:mad:

I work at a packing and shipping store and the joke hear is would you rather have it broke by UPS or lost by Fedex? DHL is by far the worst though. Snapping a cam is impressive though. Was the seller someone on here or Joe blow?

I also worked for ups. The best thing you can do is insur it for over 3 grand because it will go in a red bag that only the manger can mess with. Other then that all you can do is hope and pray that it will come in safe.

Ya your spot on there!! the high insurance boxes DO NOT get messed with. Head of security or managers handle those privately.
For a cam to break like that though, id bet money it got caught in a bad belt jam. That probably didnt happen by hand.

well looks like UPS is being a bitch and only reinbusing 100 bucks, since i do want the cams, i have contacted crower and found out the price for just 1, this price is 220 per cam. Now since i need $$ and i am getting 100 bucks from them, i need to make up the difference so the AEM CAM GEARS on the cams are gonna go for sale. They are brand new, never installed in a car, just installed on the cam so i will be takin offers, they go for 160ish new so base your offers on that and do not try to lowball me cause i hate lowballers.
also i will ship it with USPS, AND I WILL PUT INSURANCE, I WILL NEVER USE UPS AGAIN IN MY LIFE!.
and if your question is what cam gears am i gonna use? am i gonna use the stock ones? this will answer your question

That's that BS right there.... maybe there was a flaw in the cam that UPS tripped on (no excuse to only give back 100 though). you should present a receipt/invoice for a new cam and tell them it was brand spankin new.
Also, ALWAYS insure the package for 20% more of the cost of anything new...
IE. Motherboard shipped... new... 100.00
Insurance... 120.00
the reasons:
1. Most items broken will not be refurbished so no core rebate (car parts)
2. Covers the shipping cost (especially if you need a new unit shipped to your house)
3. Not trying to scam any postal service, but the AMOUNT of time waiting for them to re-imburse is redonkulous! (4-8 weeks?!) you might need that little extra for a financial infusion...

I also worked for UPS loading a 747, years ago. We were instructed that it was ok to "swiftly" move a dropped box along with our foot-but not kick it. The items that were marked "fragile" got more of a beating then those that were not!!!
Also, I just recieved my amp kit, and rca's via UPS. The items were in blister packs, and not "really" breakable, but the box was F*CKED up when it was dropped @ my door without signature required.....The hole was big enough to almost have the rca's come out.
Last Fed-x shipment got lost for 4 days...
It is unbelieveable how bad shippers are lately, as well as, the packing places.....makes me second guess when i order that really good "online price."
