the tail lights on my black lude are smoked out with transparent vinle and the front fogs, blinkers and markers on both my white one and black one are tinted with 15% window tint, i mainly did that because it is removeable, but when i get the time im actually going to paint the tail lights on my white lude..

Im pretty sure autozone or any parts store sells the spray or the tint. I have seen both of them in there, around here. Im not sure how hard it would be to do though I though I saw a write up on it not to long ago, Ill try to find it.

the spray on stuff that you buy in rattle cans is called Nightshades it's made by VHT and that stuff is a PITA to work with, you have to be really particular with it to get a nice finish in the end, sometimes its hard to find at parts stores so check out ebay if you're interested in it

I have those tinted ones off ebay. They actually look and work real good. I have to swap them off each year for inspection but Ive never gotten pulled over or anything for them surprisingly, and I live in VA where everything is illegal.

i did mine with the vht, and no there are other colors like red or yellow and more but vht doesnt make it. there is a japenes spray tint called VANS that is like 20-40 bucks depending on where you get it. here is some of the colors they offer: http://motors.shop.ebay.com/_Car-Truck-Parts-Accessories__lens-paint_W0QQ_nkwZlensQ20paintQQ_fxdZ1QQ_ptasZ1

better off using vinyl or tint because it's removable. unless you want to buy a second set of lights.

I have tinted probably 10 sets of lights and i always use the VHT Nightshades. I always get it from a place called SLS Performance, but i'm sure you can get it from lots of other places. It's pretty easy to take off too, you just use rubbing alcohol. I had to redo it just barely to pass my inspection. My lights look the same color as my car and the light still shines through just fine.

wow goose those look rele good.
VHT Nightshades is the brand?
And do uyou just spray with an even coat or is there a method you prefer to use other than a basic sweeping motion like that of which you would use to spray paint?

ludegrl99

mine are done too. used the spray. be careful some states they will bust you for the tint cause it is illegal no matter how dark....here they have harrassed me some. they thought they were covers...lmao

i love the tinted tail light look. i actually did the same and purchased the tint kit on eBay for $20. i love the stock look too so i have not yet installed/applied the tint. not sure if i will. i really wanna but i love the stock tail lights as well. i'll prob do it one day. i've seen it done on someone else's silver 5th gen and it looks sick. who knows... lol. just need that push i guess.

Yeah thats the only kind i've tried. But i actually use a pretty heavy coat because if you do really light coats they look sort of matte. My buddy did the matte look on his Discovery and they look pretty good too. I just like the shiny.

If you type in DIY tail light tinting on google there is a really good write-up that shows you how to use the nightshades properly with wet sanding, the guy does it on his corrado, its a good write-up, BTW thats a really cute picture of you Prelude24 LMAOOO!!
