nIIIIIce.. my first How To: :peace:
Ok.. so most of the install is just the way the instruction manual said to do it.
Edit:yeah.. i know.. some text help out there.. but very few with photos.. none of the write-ups are for preludes..so here we go.
I personally had a few things that I had to fight with.. like my stereo.. well yeah mostly my stereo.. first taking it apart.. then putting it back together.. then dealing with the EDFC fighting my stereo power lines.. where most write-ups i found on the net say.. cool you have an aftermarket deck.. just splice those wires and you are good... not so much for me.
Anyways.. here is all the business

My sweet system that was a huge pain to take apart so i could reach the rear mounts.

Now my truck is mostly cleared out and we can get to work.

Ok.. we have taken all the wheels off and are ready to uninstall the stock shocks.
Unscrew the nuts on the top of the front spring and remove strut bar.
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg20/astral_design/Front_OldTop1.jpg
Remove two bolts on lower fork.. so you can remove the fork and pull the shock away.
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg20/astral_design/Front_loosenNUT1.jpg
Replace the shock with sexy new Tein Flex.
Replace two bolts on the lower fork.. replace strut bar and tighten nuts back up top.
You can now adjust the coils to what ever ride height you would like. I tried to get them as close to the stock length as I could and after I get the feel for the shocks I will drop her down a bit.

On to the rears. Unscrew nuts in trunk.
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg20/astral_design/Rear_OldspringTop1.jpg
Remove bolt at the lower end of the shock and pull axle down a bit to get the old shock out of the way.
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg20/astral_design/Rear_loosenNut1.jpg
When putting in the Type Flex coil you can have it very small to easily fit it into place and then adjust the height once everything is in place and bolt is replaced as well as nuts on top.
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg20/astral_design/RearCoil_doneNeedsTighten1.jpg
Now attach the EDFC motors to the top of all 4 coils.

The instructions are very strait forward from here. You remove the original hex screw.. swap it for the new one provided in the kit... place the motor on top of the shock use a flat head screw driver turn 3 revolutions clockwise.. then screw on the motor until it stops.. 2 more revolutions with the screw drive clockwise.. and the motor should barely move if you can still crew the motor in you have done it wrong or.. in my case the hex which is what you are screwing in with the flat head screwdriver doesn't move with the motor you need to change your strategy. To fix this problem... after your 3 revolutions you are to screw the actual motor onto the shock.. while turning this you should also use the screw drive to turn the screw with the motor.. this will fix the problem and after you have completed the 2 revs the motor should be pretty solid.. the instructions then say to go 1 rev counterclockwise.. then 1 rev clockwise to ensure the motor is working properly... sweet.. now for running wires.
I don't have any pictures of this but my car already has so many wires running through it I just played follow the leader.
I mounted my EDFC control unit on the right side of my console by screwing in the mount bracket provided in the kit.

pretty simple to do. gRRREaaat suCKCCCessss!
Well.. that about does it.. it took a few hours.. longer than we thought because of the EDFC wiring.. problems with my stereo uninstall and reinstall..
but i'm stoked.. can't wait for the roads to clear up a bit and rally some corners.. I hope this was helpful.
oh yeah.. i am getting my alignment done in the morning.. I wouldn't recommend driving around too much after this install... :ciao:
