Let me start this by saying, ANYBODY KNOW ANYONE THATS A COP!!?!?!!? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
if anyone does in NY...PLEASE I NEED HELP W/ THIS!!!

Basically i'm driving home, and i come to a stop sign. I see a gray impala behind me. Something tells me its a cop, so i go to the next stop sign and make a left. Then BAMMM, pulled over, i get upset b/c my license is restricted. And boom, i'm done. My mistake since i was scared, i told them i had restricted license off the bat. Then i told them i was coming from my friends house, not thinking clearly, i had the paper work that premits me to go school, work, and community service (for my school)...so seeming i told them i'm coming from a friends house i got shot in the back basically. 2 cops first pulled me over, then 2 jackasses in another cop car supposedly come check out whats going on. A black dude comes up to me and says whats wrong kid in a sarcastic attitude, he's like, you on drugs? you have a gun? any weapon in the car? And i said looking at his face, No would you like to search my car? I said it 3x, then the lady cop was going to let me go because she didn't know what to do, and this dumbass in the 2nd car that stopped, he says give him a summons. Out of ****ing no where. So then they say they'll brb, so the 2nd car leaves, my girl calls me and asks if i'm home (btw i was driving my girl home, and was on the way coming back home)

So anyway, she calls me and the cops are writing me the ticket, the other 2 cops get in there car, and he ****ing burns out next to me and yells "GET OFF THE FONE" i lie and tell him, "IM ON THE PHONE WITH MY FATHER" He said "I DONT GIVE A CRAP", and he yells twice "GET OFF THE PHONE". So basically now, im ****ing freezing, i forgot to mention they tell me to lower my windows, b/c they were tinted. So im freezing, no heat on, and 20 minutes go by. They come back, WITH A ****ING TICKET, AND TELL ME THAT I HAVE DARK TINT AND PINK H.I.D's that im more PRONE to being stop. They said sorry. One thing, they never told me why i was stopped. This whole thing was my fault though b/c i panicked..BUT ****KKK now if i get it suspended my lude is undriveable for a year and there goes wildwood

well on the ticket the girl only put violated terms of restricted and or drivers license. My dad's hoping that the paper that states i can drive to work school and the community service thing will help. Because he's going to get a note from my job saying i was on my way home, then email the paper that says im allowed to drive to work and back. Only problem with that though is, the guy i used to work for fired me for a ridiculous reason, and the person that highered me is my dad's friend so he's going to see if he can get a note stating i help'd close 2day..i doubt it will help..NY is full of assholes and just love to put any kid out of the road for kicks

To be honest, lying will probably get you more in trouble. Tell the truth. You cant say anything wrong if you tell the truth that u were just driving home, and all of the sudden you get pulled over and harrased unnecesarily, by a bunch of cops. Say just one could have easily written you a ticket without all that. As far as your headlights/ tint go, tell them they were like that when u got the car used. Say you have to be able to drive so you can drive to work to earn the money u need to buy the right kind of headlights, otherwise you cant get the right ones that they want.

To be honest, telling the truth got me into this situation. My first ticket i got pulled over, b/c sum asshole kept coming into my lane and the left lane every 2 seconds, so i went into the 3rd lane (basically bus uses these lanes to so the street is all fcked up), and my car was lower then it was now, so i had to get in front of 2 cars to get back in the lane, im doing about 40 45 the most. Well long story short i get pulled over tell the cop the truth, told him i was trying to get back into the middle lane, the road was to destructed and b/c of how low my car was it was destroying the bottom of it. And...i still got a ticket which lead me to restricted license.

Anyway, also i said friends house b/c idk..i was thinking clearly, when i got home and told my parents what i said they said you could've just said you came from work, and i had the paper work in my car showcasing that i can go to 3 locations with my car (school, work, & community service)

And yogi, i worked for my dads friend from august til january. And i known him for like 3 years and my father known him for longer..so i hope he'll budge and help me with the note...My dad called the precint after i told him all this, the cop said if i just showed the paper work, and just said i came from work none of this would've happened. He said though, when you email the ticket and paperwork, they can either dismiss it b/c of proof, or you will get a letter stating you have to appear at court

i learned what u gotta do is shut ur mouth, dont say a damn word. U dont ahve to answer where ur going, where u came from, what ur doing out. Make them short and sweet. Home. Work. and Out should be most of ur responses to cops. If they wanna search ur car dont let them, even if u have nothing to hide. Its ur private property. And cops with always lie to try and get u to crack. Next time just sit back and take a deep breath.

And dont feel like a jackass. Most ppl panic when they see cops. Im a NY'er to. I should know. They ride ur ass and make u panic and stare in ur rear view mirror to see if there gonna pull u over which can potentially cause an accident when they just want u to move over so they can go faster. They're ass holes and will always be assholes.

Yeah yogi, i can say i got off the highway to come home that way. I was literaly 2 minutes away from my house when i got stopped. But i didn't do anything thats the whole thing..like stealth said they ****ing pressure you out here and i cracked..i cracked like crazy b/c of my restricted license. Dude i thought i was going to get arrested b/c i heard if you get caught driving w/ a restricted license..you get thrown in jail, car gets impounded and yeah..i didn't want to lose this lude

Oh yeah and stealth i know what you mean cops get at you like your a ****ing wild animal or something, but when they follow me, they just stop me, they don't even bother passing me.

Also i just want to know..i have to appear at traffic court right?...i mean it makes sence but..idk im praying i just dont go against this judge, i keep reading all of this **** and..this judge (judge brian levine)..is the biggest dick in the state of NY. the polls read 72 perfect of all convictions of traffic violations are guilty, and the other 28 are just dismissed b/c either the cop wasn't professionally trained for a testimony, or the court had to reach a quota at the end of the month

If you had a restriction, you must have done something wrong to have that in place. That being said, you shouldn't have been driving out of the terms of restriction. As much as cops can be jerks, you were breaking the law.
I got pulled over twice in 15 minutes driving my unregistered lude home from work when my van broke down. As much as it sucked, I was in the wrong. Sorry about your misfortune, and I hope everything works out. Try and take the terms of that restriction more seriously if you are lucky enough for this to work out in your favor.

i hate cops especially ny. hopefully the cop doesn't even show up for court and you get off since it is kind of a bs ticket. if you get a note or something stating you were working late, and have your friend come in n say he works with you or close by and just came to your job for a ride home at that time. as long as yours friends house is along the way home you might be able to pull something off. Get a lawyer, its probably going to cost a pretty penny but they will get that ticket bumped down to a non moving violation and no points on your license. Here in MO is 12 points on your license for driving on a suspended license and 2 days automatic in jail.

well my court date was last thursday, and i thought i was going to lose my license...so i ended up going in there, the first 2 cases the judge dismissed...1 was a kid, another was an adult...So i was up after those 2, i go up, tell her my story, i ended up just paying a fine for 125$...but no points, and i didn't lose my license for the year. yay!

funny thing is...well not really funny but last tuesday around 12 or 1 i almost got arrested..for nothing, got to love these cops <3

Well, glad to hear it didn't turn out too bad in the end, but honestly, you're guilty, you're complaining of harrassing cops when in reality we want them to do this kind of thing in order to catch the real bad guys.
Whilst i do feel for you in this situation, if you drive a rare/non standard car and you're young, expect to get pulled, end of. If you lie, you're screwed, it's a bad thing to do, and using the excuse that when you told the truth last time it didn't help is really bad - the last time you actually did something incriminating!!!

End of the day, you gotta realise you can't make excuses for everything you do, cops won't give you a ticket for slowing down to pull in behind traffic if you need to move lanes, they also won't get suspicious unless you panic and stink of guilt (restricted license)
I'm honestly glad you got off ok, because we all need a break, but i just hope that you realise why it all happened and how you could do things differently in the future.

"Harassed unnecessarily" is a subjective term. To the citizen any form of police interaction is deemed as unnecessary and harassment, especially if it results in anything other than a "have a good day" and no ticket. When it comes to J.P.s and Judges, the officer is the most credible witness to the incident, and what the citizen (who now has a reason to lie, dramatize or exaggerate events) says is disregarded as opinion evidence. Unless you have solid evidence of abuse you aren't going to win that coin toss.

A judge doesn't care who installed the lights on the car. You are in court because at the time the officer saw you, you were operating a vehicle with improper lights. That defense is like being popped for possession of marijuana, and trying to pin it on the dealer or the guy who grew it.

Whether or not you installed the lights and tint or the Pope did, you operated the vehicle and you were charged. Rightly so I might add if the lights and tint were in fact illegal. The judge is not concerned with how you pay for the corrective actions, only that the steps are taken before the car is operated again. The defense you are suggesting, (you need to car for work to pay for the new headlights) is akin to a prostitute being slapped with a fine for solicitation, and asking to turn tricks to make the money to cover it.

I take it the crux of the quoted reply was to be honest and forthcoming with the judge, but unless the lights and tint were installed by the previous owner, telling the judge that is in fact being dishonest, and the spirit of the message is canceled out.
