What: The 4th, Mid-Atlantic area Prelude Skyline Drive Cruise, Meet, BBQ and optional camping in Shenandoah National Park!
When: MAY 10 - 11, 2008
Where: Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia!

Meeting Location: Most of us will meet at the Giant Food parking lot in Warrenton, VA (At 10:30AM) just off Rt. 29 Bus exit from Rt. 29 South bound out of Gainesville, VA.

If this is not a convienent meeting spot for you, coming from your location please let me know how you will be coming and I can help you arrange a place to meet us on our caravan up to the entrance to the drive. We plan to hit the Rt. 211 (Luray Road) entrance around 12:00 noon (pm).

3. Percent (%) sure that you are coming to: A.) Saturday drive and BBQ ONLY, or B.) to both Saturday drive AND camping overnight SPECIFY!!!...I'll need to know how many campsites we'll need.
2. PM me your cell phone number if you don't want to be left behind at meeting spots of you run late!
3. What year and color lude do you drive?
4. What kind of food, drinks, or supplies can you bring to the BBQ/camping?
Tentative Agenda:
1. Meet in Warrenton, VA on date chosen (will be a Saturday morning around 10-11am...this thread will update as decisions are made).
2. Bring food and supplies for the Saturday lunch BBQ!
3. Some of us are planning to camp at a campground in the park Saturday night! Bring tent, sleeping bag, tooth brush, etc if you want to enjoy the first Prelude camping party at 3200' above sea level!
4. Those camping will meet at a campground (TBD) around 4pm (Saturday) to set up camp and then do some more driving with everyone. http://www.shenandoah.national-park.com/camping.htm The camp grounds are first come first serve on May 10th so I'll be doing a recon mission the week or 2 before to locate the best ones and which ones will accomodate us and have a place for a fire in each site. Anyone not wishing to stay for the camping can depart at will after we make it to the camp ground, late afternoon on the saturday.
5. The camping crew will wake up Sunday...cook breakfast, break down tents, etc. and do some more cruising/sprints on the way out!
6. Video/pics will be taken throughout for the 3rd Skyline Drive Vid!
NOTE:
This cruise can get "spirited" at times as it gets into some very curvy roads, however everyone should drive at their own pace. Don't try to keep up all the time if you are not comfortable doing so. You will catch back up in no time as the speed will constantly vary due to traffic, wildlife, and perhaps to get some good pictures or video.
