almost lost the looooddd

i was going to work on sunday and took this one turn that i always take pretty fast at a decent speed, and the tail end kicked out a smidge, just enough to get my heart racing.

then on the way home going the other way, same turn, i guess going a BIT faster, tail started swinging out so i counter-steered just a LITTLE bit, rear end started going the other way so i counter-steered the other way a tad, but i guess it was too much. i did a 180 into the other lane (no traffic, i made sure of that before doing this!!) and off the road into a ditch.

the only thing i was thinking during the entire slide was "dont hit phone pole!! dont hit phone pole!! dont hit phone pole!!" i stopped about 10 feet before it, thank god.

about a minute after i slid off, a kid in a grand cherokee asked if i needed a tow out, so he towed me, and i was back on the road in about 2 minutes tops. no cops or nothin :tongue:


and the damage to the car?....
a screw holding my bumper lense came out, and my tranny started leaking again that i just fixed.:rolleyes:
i thought she was a goner :redface:

Hah. That really sucks man. Glad you're okay. I almost lost it the other night also. Hit a turn going a little too fast and ran over some wet pavement that i hadnt seen. Front end slipped out, I let off a bit cuz i got scared, and the rear end swung out. Gladly, I mad eup my mind and hit the gas and she straightened up.

glad you and the lude are okay. that happened to me last may. except i was on the highway on ramp, and had the choice of a 30 foot vertical drop on to the highway, or a cutting off the car next to me and hitting the curb. not much of a choice eh? i ended up not hitting the car next to me, and slamming into the curb, messing up my axle.
