trying too make decisions

I read the n/a h22 sticky, and i gotta say i'm pretty impressed. I've heard of a jun tuned 4th gen in japan making 270hp, thats alot for a 2.2ltr. I've even heard of f22 blocks making 320hp n/a. I've been considering modding my car, but i'm all about reliablity. I think a prelude has pretty good potential in a build. However, it seems like it would cost about $10k alone for the motor too make numbers well north of 250hp. After reading a huge chunk of the sticky it seems very possible too make a reliable power house of an h22, but in the end is it worth it?

I'm a race track sort of person and not a drag race type. Its so hard too make a decision. alot of people just say do i/h/e, and in my opinion thats what everyone seems too do. Know one wants too try anything different. I like my prelude alot, but if i'm gonna mod it i'm going all out and make it a project car. Does anyone have any imputs on this? or suggestions?

Since you want to go n/a and you know that your gonna have to spend some big $$$ considering going n/a is much more expensive than.. lets say going turbo, and you still want to heavily modify your car than i dont see many other options for you... However if you do go turbo and build your engine and do everything right, you could have a pretty reliable car too. It all depends on what you want to do...
As for the i/e/h... i think people take this route because its the best bang for the buck, and you have to remember that most people arent going to dump a **** load of money on their car all at once, so i/e/h is a good start.

yeah i suppose you're right. I've considered turbo too, but it will still cost just as much money. Yeah i guess i just have to sit on this one a little longer to really figure out which route i should take.

Im in the same position as you my friend. I still cant figure it out... maybe one day lol.

Most people don't go further than I/H/E because they don't see the point. Sure, you can spend $10k and build a baller NA Prelude, or you can spend a bit less and make the same power with a turbo.

Or you can spend the same money and buy something that's genuinely faster, WRX, early Evos, or even (as much as I hate them) the S14 or S15 Nissans.

The Prelude isn't a popular base for a tuned car for a number of reasons. Reason number one is the Integra/RSX. It's lighter and shorter so it's basic handling is always going to be better, and they have an amount of after market support that we as Prelude owners can only dream of.

Sure a Prelude is more classy and a far nicer car, but you have to spend huge amounts more to get a similar result.

I love the Prelude, but I won't go further than I/H/E with mine either. It just doesn't make sense to me. But look at what you want. Do what you want, don't think that somebody else's opinion matters because in reality, it doesn't.

Really good point brash. I'm holding off anyway, and really i'm trying not too upgrade my lude anymore because it is in spectacular condition. If i were ever too try and sell my lude it would be worth more because its stock.

At heart i prefer a car thats rear wheel drive with a straight 6 at the front. I've been so impatient with wanting too mod a car that i've been trying to find an excuse too mod mine. The reality is though i really don't, i just really want too mod a car. I will just continue to save my pennies till i find that right car. Besides a lude is a pretty good everyday car as it is.
