Savannah GA. Meet April 19, 2008

Ok peeps. it is going to be getting to that time when wether starts to get nice, and days get longer. I have been contacted by Si Speed to help orginize a meet for the GA and SC people.

April 19, 2008 is a Saturday, and this date is set in stone, and will not be changed.

I will be getting a hotel for the weekend, since my wife loves to come to Savannah.

What has been sugested was meet in Savannah and goto one of the beaches, either Tybee Island or Hilton Head Beach. We will only be asking that if you come you can donate some drinks, bread, sandwich meats, and condiments. Nothing too overboard since we will more than likely be on the beach, so picnic foods would be the majority of food and drinks needed. No cooking out.

Ok with that in mind, post up any interest or other ideas to make this a meet worth remembering. I would love to kick off the new season of shows and meets in style. I will be talking to Si Speed to get things put together, so keep checking back for more official planning.

OK here is what we have so far as for ideas.

Possible two day event. Saturday meet in Savannah, and travel to Tybee Island for the official day meet. Then in the early evening go get some dinner for some door prizes and fun little give aways. Then on Sunday have a farewell breakfast for all the people who want to tough it out for two days.

UPDATE !!! We will only make the meet a one day thing. There are not many people that want to get a hotel reserved, and I know money for these meets can be tight.

I will be staying for the whole weekend, so my wife and I can do out thing, as well as attend the meet.

I thought about that but Saturday night is the worst time to be taking a group of cars there, especially lowered Preludes. It's a good place to go since it has a lot of history but since it's so crowded and the free parking is blocked off, that makes paid parking even harder to come by, let alone getting to park as a group. :redface:

I agree with you, needing to get enough people. We need to get more people interested, I do not want to drive that far if there are only going to be 4 or 5 cars.

THe last meet I went to in Nashville, there was at least 30 show up. That is a good time. I loved it when we were all cruising down the hiway, and then rolling like a parade in DT Nashville. Awesome scene 30 Ludes 2 lanes wide and 15 deep. Looked like the start of a NASCAR Race.

Come on Fellow Luders....lets make this happen.

i went TDY to savannah one time, at the army base there... i was not impressed with the club/bar selection down town.. bar bar was pretty good... probably the best there. but keep in mind, i'm not a big bar/club person. i like bars better but i just really dont go out. i'm more of a stay at home kinda guy. so you can take that for what its worth.

Savannah clubs are kinda lame. There's strip clubs as soon as you cross the big bridge into South Carolina, 3 of em within 3 miles. The first one, which is on the left is the best, lol.
The bars on River Street are where to go. I just warn you before you go down there in a lowered Lude with low pro tires. Spanky's at the end of River Street (It's got yellow stuff on the front) is the best restraunt in Savannah. It also has a bar and some fine waitresses. I'm down for staying a little late to show some people around the town, or at least what I know but I can't spend the night.

Well it's a one day thing so you'd definitely wanna stay at least one night, probably the night before cause I think we're parting ways around 5 or 6 that night, but a few people may stick around and go do something that night.

We could use some gatorade or something since it is gonna be hot and sodas can dehydrate you, so if you brought a cooler with a couple bottles of that in it, that'd help a LOT.

Just a reminder, let's be sure to keep things civil, act like human beings. No acting a fool, racing, burning rubber, etc. or you will be beaten by the other Luders with our lug wrenches.
When we arrive at the beach, be sure to pick up your trash and maintain acting civil. I'll be bringing a football so if anyone wants to bring a frisbee, bring that. As far as everyone bringing a guest, make sure they understand these guidelines as well. I talk to most of you at least on occasion so I know you all know how things need to be.

I won't be there till around 10:00. We're rolling out at 10:30 so if you wanna grab some breakfast or something, I don't expect anyone to get there till about 9:30 or so. I'm leaving here at 8 and it takes just under 2 hours to get there, going normal speeds. I might be meeting up with someone else and having them follow so it might take a little longer.

6 Ludes. 3 5ths and 3 3rds showed up. I dunno about everyone else, but all things considered, I had fun. Wish more people woulda came but whatever. We might try to plan another around July.
The weather was just right, I got a little sun, and overall, it was a successful day, beside Jacob getting a parking ticket, lol.

Well, hopefully we'll be a little better prepared next time. I think everyone still wound up having a good time, especially the people who came from NC who had never been to River Street. At least next time we know to bring towels and I need to remember the damn football. Maybe ole gall in the black bikini will wanna play some tackle with us.

haha maybe, well have to cruise to hooters for lunch for the next meet we do because hooters girls will take pictures with ludes for sure, that gives me ideas on planning the next meet, keep an eye out for a PM from me about planning a late summer meet! give me a couple days and i should be able to work up something nice!

well keep in somewhere in the area, i might make a day of it this summer and ride down to hilton head find out exactly what there is to do down there and scout out a few places we could maybe meet up and take photos or just nice crises to go on
