What's the best way to clean and re-oil these things? I ebay'd one a while ago but haven't cleaned it yet. Do you need special oil? If so, where's the best place to get the oil -thanks

you can buy the K&n filter recharger oil from any place that sells the filters.. or u can buy them off ebay for a little cheaper..personally i cant be bothered waiting for delivery and dont mind paying the extra just to get my hands on them quicker

Thanks for the info I'll check out prices at advanced auto vs. ebay.

Which kit do people prefer - the spray oil (-5000) or the oil in the squeeze bottle (-5050)? I'm guessing the spray is quicker to use provided you have an outside place that you don't mind spraying oil?

Hey, I know it's a personal preference, but since I haven't tried "recharging" the airfilter before, I don't know which I'd
prefer.

Justing looking for opinions from those that have cleaned and re-oiled their K&N filter. Do you like to work with the aerosol or squeezing out the oil? Is one method faster, more reliable? Thanks....

i prefer the aerosol, it's easier and you can make sure that you can coat the whole filter with it, the squeeze bottle makes it a little PITA

agreed, you'll probably get like dark spots where theres alot of oil with squeez, go with the spray!

check your filter out..if its really dirty u might want to use the squeeze bottle so u get the cleaner deep into the filter and if its not that bad then just stick with the spray bottle

Get the one with the aerosol. I have cleaned KnNs alot and the aerosol can is alot easier to use than the roll on oil.
