The driver side one is pretty easy, the right one runs over the exhaust system and that is a huge pain (and is also the reason why it fails, sitting on all that heat). I'm about to put in yet another honda lifetime muffler so I'm considering taking on that right side cable when the muffler is out of the car.

Looks like some kind soul has put the manuals on website so you might check them out.

Yeah, mine doesnt work too. So thats why? It rubs up agaisnt the muffler?

Well, it doesn't rub against the muffler, but it runs above the muffler. Makes it a real pain to swap out. I believe the heat causes the lubricant to wear out and allows that right side cable to rust in place. So I've just replaced the left side, and the handbrake lever can activate it since the right side is rusted in place. If you only replaced one cable, and disconnected the other, the handbrake wouldn't work because it's a "toggle pull". Kind of hard to explain.

I'm a little lazy and dont really wanna look (not to mention I hurt myself falling off my friends CRX.) how hard could it really be to replace the wire, and put some protective tubing around it to protect it from the heat?
