Despite my age I'm still very new to Prelude's and Import cars in general...I grew up driving domestics and still own a '95 Ford F150. I never took notice to the 5th gen Prelude until after I moved to NC. My first reaction to a 5th gen was thinking that I was looking at a 2 door Accord..hahaha...isn't that what Cops think? I was instantly drawn to the unique style and clean lines, so after about 5 months of looking around I found this well maintained '98 in August of 2004. It was bone stock with the exception of the keyless entry which was added by one of the 2 previous owners. Drove to the credit union, took out your typical 48 month loan and bought the car in about 2 hours.
My main objective was to keep it looking just as clean if not cleaner than when I picked it up. I'm not much into performance modding, I like looks, reliability and a touch of luxury (still want leather) So here's a quick rundown of what I did first: new tires...when I bought the car it had 205/55's...which is the wrong size for 16's...so I replaced them with 205/50 Kumho ASX's. Next came the JDM foglight kit and clear side markers (standard Newb mods) and in spring of 2005 I added an AEM V2 intake and Tein basic coilovers. The car stayed that way for over a year...added a few things here and there but the big change came in August 2006 with the addition of the OEM lip kit which completely transfoms a 5th gen and I'm sure most would agree.
Many more under the hood changes and interior mods have followed as well as some custom pieces. Finally after more than 3 years of rolling around on stockies I broke down I ordered the 17" Borbet Type-FS wheels with Yokohama rubber...I'm happy with them, they compliment the Lude very well. My next project...although I've been procrastinating forever...is retro-fitting the headlights with TSX projectors done by me. I absolutely love this car, I just can't wait until it's paid off...August2008!!!
I think that I might have a small fan base on here and other Prelude forums, so I would like to thank you guys for the all the compliments you've given me from time to time, you guys are the one's that have kept me interested and that's what makes it worth while. Thank You PZ.com, the community and to everyone that voted for me!
