Hey guys, I have a problem. My car looks like it has been through a hail storm at some point in its life, it has many small dents (diameter roughly of a thumbnail or smaller, no deeper than a few milimeters each.) on the hood, roof, and trunk. It's not terribly noticable, but when I'm ready to have it painted, I want it to be smooth as can be. Does anyone know how much roughly it would cost for a reputable body shop to remove these dents? Is this something I could do myself (on the hood and trunk at least... I'm not removing the roof panel lol)?

Well it all depends where you are located. different places charge different amounts. I think it would be better to buy a used hood and the trunk lid. Try going to a junk yard, or get a new aftermarket hood/trunk lid.
Doing it yourself is also a good thing. But as always you have to know what you're doing. I bet you can find a How To Manual on google.com
But I would rather get a used original hood. Not dealing with the aftermarket crap that may not fit correctly or will look weird. Another option for the hood is a CF hood.
Roof, Im sure the body shop will fix.
Good luck!

it's not really hard, it's time consuming, and u have to be very persist. U have to sand the body filler so it will be as smooth and aligned with the metal itself. And on small dents it a pain in the a**.

These are the whole puncher thingy. Basically you kinda have to make a whole and then screw it in and then bang it out with that yellow handle. It's mostly used for big dents and a bigger job.
