Boost to go 14's is not the easiest way. IMO it's over kill

Auto trans is your biggest weak point. If your dead set on leaving it auto I would reccomend just getting the basic bolt on's and go from there

Nope not even close to be blunt. Why wouldn't you swap to 5 speed

i would so do the 5speed swap..... auto trans arent cheap to replace or rebuild and also you cant have much aftermarket for it....

n2o would be the easiest really with all the bolt ons, but like everyone said a 5 speed would help along with swapping in a H22. There is also no real right answer for this question.

just curious, how much would the swap cost and how difficult would it be?

The h23 to h22 or the auto to 5 speed?

Nitrous.

Then your auto tranny goes, you do 5 speed swap

I ran 15.35 with i/h/e and 5 speed if that gives you any measuring stick. You'll definitely need to do some headwork if you're staying auto. With a 5 speed, you could do it with bolt-ons, weight reduction, and a decent tune. Being that the auto is the heaviest, you'll need to shed even more weight. Check the resource guide for my write-up on effective weight reduction.

omg i must have that

i think that autos are about 2 seconds slower but thats is mostly form the take off as far as weight reduction i do that more till then end u gaine about a 10th of a second on ur 1/4 pre 100lbs for what i hear. in the long run i would do a h22 swap and then a 5speed. so y u dont want a 5speed

well i dont really know how to drive a 5 speed...lol....but idk it just seems like it would be alot of work to covert it to a 5 speed plus im gonna be running it for midnight madness mostly and autos seem to be more consitant then a 5 speed

Consistently bad. Well, for speed anyway.

Edit: From what I understand, Auto trannys have a bad habit of switching gears at the lower RPMs. Good for fuel economy, bad for acceleration.

IF money is no concern and you want to keep it automatic then just swap in a SHO ATX motor in there. I saw another prelude owner doing just that and with the motor producing 220hp stock and great lauches from the auto trans you can expect 1/4 mile times in teh low 14's high 13's. And with a few bolt ons to that motor you can easily get into the mid to low 13's. If you are set on keeping your h23 then get it well maintainenced then slap on some headers, intake, exhaust, wild cams, some tuning and a 50-75hp shot of NOS then you could break into the high to mid 14's.

well they best thing u can do is practice with a 5 speed. At one point all of us sucked at driving stick but u can learn just takes time. and it is a good bit of work to do it but so would anything else. for and EZ fix NO2 is about it and a few bolt ons. but if money is no concern and u got room i would just get a lude with vtech and a 5speed u could pick one up for around $2000 with a bit of looking and might be the same as an engine and 5speed swap that way u have 2 ludes and be closer to ur 14s mark

I have an auto h23 too. If I had the time and money I'd do a 5speed swap. I havent ran it yet but I'd be happy to get into the 15s haha

boost is the easiest way

What? nos would be the easiest and way cheaper. but and h22 with a 5 speed and the basic bolt ons will do it.

I ran a 14.5 with i/h/e pullies flywheel and clutch so and that was with a ****ty 60 foot (2.5 that is slow) so I could slap some drag rads on it and run 13s with a better 60 foot so yeah.

Just for info purposes. I ran a 15.3 In my dohc f22b Prelude Si. So I know if you add boost to your stock motor or just add vtec and a manual tranny you will have mid to low 14's. I'll let you know next time I go. I'm taking my black 4th gen with the vtec swap.

yeah boost is better if you run boost on your stock motor just run 7-8lbs
but when you race do about 10lbs an a auto holds boost when it shifts
but i say 5 speed swap then f22a4 bottom end with a h22a1 head
