I bought some interior armrest trim pieces from Honda4Life
They were sanded, primered, painted with deep jewel metallic paint, and they now have 3 clear coats.
I used only dupli-colour rattle cans, and it turned out better than I expected
However I have a little orange peel going on.
Looking for suggestions on how to polish these up with out tearing them up.

Do I just get some car polish and go at it?
or is there something special that I should use since its plastic and not metal?

This is my first time trying to polish something I've painted.
any help would be appreciated

get some real fine get sand paper.. and wet sand it, then take either a buffer on really low speed or a microfiber towel and do it by hand... use some polishing compound and just buff and buff and buff.

ok I got some turtle wax polishing compound last night
but it says its mild abrasive
it shined the surface up a little but that's about all
I didn't sand it first, wanted to see if I could just polish it out by hand before I tried something that would enable me to totally F*** it up

I have some 2500 grit paper at home, I'll take that to it and see what I can do

yea that should do it make sure you wet sand though, dry sanding can totally **** up the shine youre going for

Gotcha
I wet sanded the trim before I primed it
the surface feels like.. soft or something
i used dupli-color rattle cans for it
how long is it supposed to take to cure? I painted on saturday
primered, couple coats of paint, then 2 coats of clear.
came back on sunday night and threw on a 3rd coat of clear.
it still feels soft though
and I scratched it just a little tiny bit with my finger nail last night.
it shouldn't be that soft right?
its car paint

it will be that soft... check the can for the actual cure time.. usually with clear coats they say 72 hours or so

There's a write-up on CB7tuner.com on polishing hard plastics.
Take pics of the final product if you can.
