I got this thingy since I needed an air filter anyway. Originally heard about it from Blake (98vtec). Any power it might free up isn't noticeable but my car accelerates a lot smoother. It is possible to use this without a filter since it's the same idea as stacks on ITB's but I don't recommend it. Get a K&N filter to go on it. I think it's a cheaper alternative to a V2. My only issue with it was that it didn't fit my Injen pipe and since it's strong plastic, it wasn't even flexible enough to force it on. Overall, it's a nice compliment if you have a short ram intake but expect minimal gains from it.

I have a V2 do you think it is worth getting for it? Also, close to $100 for the stack 2 metal bands and a cone seems a little pricey.

It won't fit the V2.
I got just the stack.
Got the filter from amazon.com for $37. (Actually ogs got it for me for my b-day )
And if you have another intake that's 3" and it doesn't fit, you can get the bands for like $2 at Wal-Mart or Auto Zone and the silicone hose piece from the same place. Other wise, you can just get the clamps. I just happened to have everything but the filter laying around. The one that holds then filter itself on comes with the filter.

Excuse the ignorance, but where is it? I don't know what I'm looking for in the pic?

The filter is wrapped around it. Notice how much bigger the clamp on it is compared to the silicone thing and piping.
