but then i looked..

As you can see underneath the silver tape are two wires [red and black]
So they lead to that little box?
Hmm whats the box?

I feel rather ignorant considering it says "MIC" right across the green board
So I'm no idiot when it comes to this i know the two wires go to the speakers, and the mic is totally away from the speaker, but it worried me that stupid little mic. therefor

What do i do!
I'm afraid to cut the mic off without consulting my fellow luders!

Please help!

Dont cut the wires off. Just bypass the amp if you have an aftermarket headunit. I have no idea how that could blow your speakers. The amp is rather small and im sure doesn't put out enough distortion and reasonable volumes to harm them.

who the hell put the mic way over there? it is supposed to be directly under the speaker. its part of the acoustic feedback system and according to honda, it improves sound quality. so how can it blow speakers?

Do you know exactly what they were trying to do with that? I cant even understand. Does it try and measure excursion and control it with power or something? Dumb. BYPASS!

It is indeed part of the acoustic feedback system. It will not harm your aftermarket speakers. DO NOT bypass it. I've had it bypassed and the sound is so much clearer with the AFS working. Eliminates background distortion.
