My Freaking Cd Player!

It plays the radio.
but doesn't play CD's...it says it's playing them...but there is no sound...

someone help me please ASAP

Dang, Alpines usually are built rock-solid...does it display an error code? try pulling the unit out and removing the harness and re-plugging it...

Did you hook up the amp turn on wire? Not totally sure if there is an amp but if it plays and no sound only on cd sounds like you hooked up the power antenna lead (solid blue from head unit) instead of the amp turn on (blue with white stripe) Ususally if something is wrong with a cd mechanism it will give you an error.

that doesnt effect it itll still play cd's
mine did the same thing i hit some potholes goin up to my freinds house and it hasnt been the same since
only thing you can really do is replace it
