Hey guys...When i bought my prelude, the previous owner already had an aftermarket stereo...Clarion head unit, dinky little kenwood amp, Infinity Reference 6x9s out back, and im not sure what kinda of 6.5s up front, with little tweeters doors.
I found these...

How are they? Anyone used these before? Any suggestions for a new amp also? Help me out, as i know almost nothing about stereos. Thanks

Alpine FTW. My system is 100% Alpine...and I have nothing but love for it. Been an Alpine nut for years.

It really depends on what kind of sound you like. For me, I went down
to Best Buy, and I listened to all the ones posted in this thread, except
for Polk, and Boston Accoustics. Granted that my 3G has only 6.5"
speakers all around, I wanted a "full sound". None pleased my ears more
than the Pioneers did though. I just replaced my blown rears with 2-way
Pioneer's this weekend, and whoa! It sounded really good! And I bought
them online for $33.00...LOL! Best $33 bucks I spent on speakers! I'm
going to install 3 way Pioneer's on the doors.
If I were going to go the subwoofer set up way. I would do Infinity's or
Alpine's. Alpine or Kenwood amp, Alpine Type R subwoofer because I
like the tighter base
Just my 2 cents worth...

Hey man so the Type S...meh...theyre alright. Rockford speakers suck we sell them.....sold them. Not so much anymore. The Punch components are okay I guess they are really inefficient. Off deck power I don't reccomend them at all. They sound really artificial and lifeless. For the money you wont buy a better speaker than Boston SL 65. Drop right in VERY minimal installation and big 1" soft dome tweeter is real transparent and smooth. If you dont want to spend 250 then the SX65 is a great compromise 160 bucks and lots of the same technology as the SLs just a smaller tweeter plane and 3/4" tweeter. The kenwood amp should be good. They are a real nice amp and their cheap **** never fails. No joke. We have so many entry level subs and amps getting pounded by kids who install themselves and just crank the gain and call it a peach. If you have any questions about audio gear or rocker arms let me know:wink:

I personally have a mixed system, rockin' some MTX woofers, love em, Pioneer tweeters, double love.. and 2 kenwood 3 ways in the back with 2 sony xplode 3 ways up front, got a sony head and the amp for the woofers is MTX aswell. can crank that shiz all the way up with no problems. After you figure out a brand search online for the stuff, got a couple of mine from Cardomain.com they were pretty cheap actually.

High five! You didn't spend the dough for the components did you? Even worse....Type RFs. We put some in a chev p/u. :worried: that was the the 599 they cost they were a waste of 549 bucks.
