I know there's some advantages about going smaller such as quicker acceleration but if i go from oem to 17's is there really gonna be a noticeable change performance wise? also is there any advantage of a bigger wheel other than looking ill

short answer is yes. typically the bigger they are, the heavier they are. the weight is what hurts. the diameter of a bigger wheel will let you go faster, but will accelerate slower.

yes, there's a noticable difference in handling/acceleration between stocks and 17's. unless you get some really light 17's which cost a grip.

i would say just comprimise and get some 16's. PLENTY of wheels to chose from, and you get the best of both worlds.

16's are better. Tires more affordable also.
