STi's do not sound that way because of the motor.. Its because of the turbo manifold.. Its unequal length. If i was to go buy a equal length manifold, it will give me more power but i will lose the rumble sound. It will start to sound more like any other turbo 4 banger.

Its all good, I thought I would give you some $hit because you have gave me some before. I know the STI's can take more of a beating than the normal WRX but watch the stock bottom end I have seen them fall apart many times even with small mods a good tune.

And your absolutly right... The piston rings are the weakest link in the sti motor... ( fully how the prelude had the exact same problem ) anyway. i dont plan on going for massive power on the sti. I am shooting for 380-400whp.

Nice doughnuts bro. Soundin' sexy as hell too. By the way, I looked at some of the other video's on that account, and I saw that race with the SRT-8 Jeep. I guess I should probably start giving those Jeeps more credit, I never realized how badass they were. I always looked at all Jeeps the same (especially the bigger ones), fun in the mud but that's about it. That definitely changed my opinion a little bit!

Nice car again bro.

lol.. you ever see how they calibrate the navigation in those cars?.. i went with a friend of mine on a test drive and he had to do it. his boss litterly told him, find an empty parkin lot, cut the wheel to the left, stomp on the gas, and dump the clutch.

We do get that sound because of our engine design, we don't work on a 4,1,2,3 firing order as soo many engines do...

It's more of a ignition from side to side... giving us that uique engine tone

Trust me,

Not on the turbo ones..

And i got a friend with equal length headers in his STi and no.. he does not rumble anymore.

Dude, I own a 03 bug eye WRX. Your myth is false.

The un equal length header does dramatically change the pulses in the exhuast, resulting in a high rate of the "thump" sound. However due to engine characteristics and design, even with my equal length I still get the chopper sound at idle. At higher engine speeds, it's not the same.

Being turbo or NA has nothing to do with the way the engine is designed to work. Sure there are Management and compression changes. Old 2.5Rs blocks still have the rumble.

You have lots to learn young one.

Not saying i know everything.. but how come every where i look to buy a set of headers.. they advertise that specific headers WILL.. surrender the rumble and others will not. I dont think there saying that for BS.

Sure you still get that boxie Idle.. But once you get moving.. It sounds nothing near the same.

And If you telling me that a turbo Exhuast sounds the same as a NA car.. You gotta be crazy. ( And I aint talking about when you sit there idling son. )

Yeah sort of like a motorcycle V Twin engine. They sound bad@$$ too.
