So anyone that read my other post on the new members thread knows this but anyway, I was basically going to great kills beach with my girl in staten island. So im driving straight on hyland blvd, doing the speed limit following an accord. So i see this guy on the left of me wants to make a right (Seeming im on the middle lane of 3 lanes), so out of courtsey i said to myself let me let him go since i have no rush. Big mistake, i let him go, and now hes in front of me, then he goes onto the 3rd lane, back into the 2nd, then the 1st. This guy doesnt know were hes going. So i ended up getting pissed off because i didn't want this guy to slam on his brakes in front of me and of course a cop would never take my story seriously seeming im only 17 and the other guy was prolly like in his 40's. So i said to myself let me get away from this jerk off. I go into the 3rd lane, i pass him, but since the accord is in front of him i had to pass him to. (The only reason why i didn't want to stay in the 3rd lane is because my car is really low for staten island, and the 3rd lane is the bus lane so i can hear the plastic and cat scratchin in the bottom of my car), so im going a little bit faster to get a safe distance, so as im trying to get a safe distance from them obviously i would have to go a little bit faster then them, so last minute before i turned back into the 2nd lane..i see the cop trying to make a right on hyland. And it had to be just my day, the light turned red, and to top it off i had my windows up, so i said to myself before he goes next to me let me lower my windows, sunroof, turn off the air, so he doesn't complain about my tints. Now on the 3rd lane where he turned into there was only one car in the front trying to make a right, and im three cars behind the crosswalk, so the cop is behind me on the 3rd lane, im use to it, cops always wanting to run my plates see if im clean. Now the light turns green, 2 seconds later, "woop woop" i said **** i even told my girl i bet you 20$ hes going to stop me. So now i pull over, license registration..blah blah, he asks me is there a reason for you speeding? I said officer, if you look at my car its low and the street i was on was damaging the bottom of my car, he say's ok and i thought he's going to cut me a brake. 20 minutes later after i see him laughing in his car. He comes out, my girl's crying, he tells me im not going to cite you for your tints, but your going to have to remove them (BS, i drive home 12 at night windows up 20 cops passed me or behind me they dont give), then it just had to be my day, which my right brake bulb went out, and he says im going to have to cite you for that, meanwhile a week before i checked all my bulbs they were perfect, except for my night lights on the left, so my father replaced the whole left side for me. So anyway i got cited on the brake light, and now he says i got a speeding ticket but he didn't clock me with the radar. So im pissed as ****ed, seeming now i got to pay the speeding ticket, and at that time i had to replace my rear brake pads. So i said let me go get a brake bulb real quick, so i can get away with that. Now when i got home hours later, my dad said the cop supposedly gave me a break, because on the ticket instead of just putting down speeding, he just circled in violation, and imprudent speeding. Now as my age, 17 years old i got my license Aug 1, you guys think i should fight it? Or is the judge going to laugh in my face? My dad told me imprudent speeding means weaving in and out of traffic while speeding, so i can say i was trying to avoid pot holes on the 3rd lane, but i don't think that would budge even though it was the truth. So what'dya guys think?

I say, you did get lucky you didn't get a speeding ticket. At age 17, that means points up the wah-zoo and insurance will go up $$$.

...try postponing the court date and see if the police officer doesn't show up for the 2nd court date. What can you do? you're gonna have to face the judge and tell him the truth.

good luck.

yeah man thanks..but idk, i mean i defintely want to pleed not guilty and see if i can get away with it, but i heard sometimes they'll double the fine just for pleeding not guilty..idk, i mean truthly what was i suppose to do? damage my car or try to avoid my car, and if i tell the judge that hes going to say its my fault for my car being low
