so my cig lighter use to work but now it doesnt, i thought it might be a fuse thing so i looked in BOTH fuse boxes (one under the hood, AND THE ONE BY THE PEDALS which is where it should be right). so anyways i couldnt find which one it was, none of them seemed to be labled for cig fuse. So i looked at all the fuses on the fuse box inside the car they all seemed fine. So does anyone have any idea of what could be the issue with my cig lighter not working? BTW i have a 92 si THANKS!

Is it just the heating element thats inop or is it the whole 12V? i.e. lighting a cigarette vs. charging a cell phone. Anyting else (interior electrical) not working?

thank you for taking the time to assist me wit this...
to answer your question the dome light no longer works, not sure if its the bulb or what but i have a sneaking suspicion that it is the same issue. Also its the whole outlet that does not work, i cant charge my cell with it or any device.
Also my car use to make a dinging noise when i would leave the headlights on and the driver door was OPEN, but now it no longer does that. Also i believe there is a LIGHTED ring around the ignition where you put the key that USE to light up but no longer does.
I appreciate your help with this, also if you want u can contact me live on msn kingskater(at)hotmail.com or on AIM screen name REALMHOG. Thanks again, i really hope to resolve this issue!!

Check the DOME fuse under the dash (Yellow 15A I think). the cig lighter circuit is always apart of another circuit dealing with interior electrical. I just couldn't remember which one. It is a constant circuit, so if i'm wrong, check the ones under the hood again. I'm pretty sure it's the DOME fuse though. especially since you said the dinging and the lighted ring went out too. All of those run with the door trigger circuit.

ok issue resolved, thanks very much for your help
the issue was the FUSE under the hood labeled "INTERIOR LIGHTS" was blown, simply replaced and now all is working! hope this helps anyone with the same problem.
