me being an idiot is what happened.. so my belts were starting to squeal here and there. so i got some new ones.. i got the PS belt off and started going at the alt belt.. i figured it was to much of a pain to reach il do it another time. so i get the new PS belt on. as i tighten the tension bolt down, it seemed to be getting tight way to quick. so i checked the tension on the belt. it seem really close but the PS pump wasn't sitting where it was before with the old belt. so i figured one more turn ought to do it. put the wrench back on give it about a half a turn and SNAP goes the tension bolt.... and the bolt didnt seem that tight. its not like i was wrenching it down really hard. but anyways. so i figured i take this opportunity to see how the car drives w/o power steering. surprisingly it wasn't that hard..... once you started moving. and it seemed alittle more responsive on the low end. but yea i got a bolt on order. i should have it monday.

I cross threaded a plug yesterday. Towed it to work and managed to retap it. Saved me the trouble of having to install a helicoil

I was helping my buddy work on his 89 accord one day, duin' a tune up, and when we pulled out all 4 plugs each one of them chewed up the threads. We ended up cleaning the crap out of the holes and re-cut the threads with a paper towel shoved in to the chamber! Had to custom fit the new plugs to, good god that was a nightmare!!!

By the way SI Speed I saved your pic thats absolutly hilarious!

I can imagine how crappy that had to be.

But yeah Drew, I prefer no PS because IMO, it's just something else to tear up, lol, you proved my point. Since your engine isn't having to put power to the pump, you wil see a slight gain in power. Now would be a good time for you to get bigger pulleys.

i've had my PS belt off for liek almost a year. LOVE the way it feels when you get moving.but it SUCKS for anything slower than 2 mph. or doing close/slow manuevering, like driveways or parking lots.

i still have yet to go auto-x'ing with it off to see how i REALLY like it.

To be relevant with the subject my 91 has not had power steering scince I bought it. These little cars are quite easy to drive compared to my '69 chevy c-10 that didn't have power steering to begin with, just a huge freakin steering wheel. To me power steering is a luxury not a nesecity, and when your trin' to get power on a budget thats the first to go!!!

By the way SI speed...don't roll your eyes at me or i'll sick my 2 year old on you, that little tird will naw your damn ankles off!!! j/k lol

That was supposed to be me pondering the though, lol. If your 2 year old is like I was, keep it away, lol. But you're right, everyone is spoiled with PS. My 91 Accord didn't have it for a while.
