Hey all im new here. My buddy Jerry has a 1988 Honda Prelude Si 4WS, With 241,000 miles on it. Its the original engine. Never been taken over 90MPH and he always changed the oil on time, Ran prem grade fuel in it and took care of it. It has to have the injectors and throttle body put back on today but im wondering if its worth 400-500 dollars? Would you buy it? It runs great and hes never had any problems exept the water pump and its been replaced. Thanks to whoever answers this.

I bought my 90 Si for 200 bucks. These cars are incredible, and extremely fun to drive! If it runs...

New problem arose today. Just found out how it ended up in his yard. His uncle drove it awhile back before i even knew him and went from 3rd gear wide open to 2nd (dont know how he did it) and it started running like it was carburated and would run but tried to die when given gas. Anyone have any ideas? BTW buddy is putting the new injectors and throttle body back in it saturday. Also it has had the timing belt replaced not to long ago.

dude your talking to a prelude heaven.... of coarse were gonna tell you to buy it lol....
on a serious note, yes any car for $500 and its a honda is well worth it.... worst case buy another 3rd gen lude and use the $500 one for parts.... always options to toy with....

with 241,000 miles that's a whole lot of miles, regardless if it was city or highway.
Sounds like a b20a5 though. Who knows? it could be still pulling stong if Jerry took care of it well.

Sounds good even if it has some problems.
Like Team123luder said, that 4ws system is worth it alone.

Sounds like a good deal but always make sure to check it out!
i got my 90 Si
for 1700
with only about 120K miles on it
it was a good deal
but then again
my engine died like 2 days ago!
I agree with boosted
I don"t think it would be such a good daily driver with such high mileage and original motor
but then again it is pretty cheap and has 4ws
