Yes, you need a to put a mod list man.

I love the back of the car with no badges or lettering. Clean. Funky header too. I don't really see how that kind of design would put too many gains unless you had a turbie between the header and dowpipe.

i painted it black when the old motor came out the the jdm motor was dropped in.

i wouldnt mind getting another set of wheels, but i love my stockies so much. If they made the stock wheels in 16x8 i would be in heaven.

you know, its really weird. Everytime i have tried to buy wheels, something always happens. Whether it be i have to spend the money elsewhere, someone else gets the same wheels.......messed up orders...whatever. It's a sign. Everyone wants to get aftermarket wheels and i want aftermarket stockies, lol.

whats wrong with the fitment?

the hood lift decreased engine bay temps and lifted the hood away from the header a little bit. Serves a purpose for me. function > form

just waiting on the final parts (cam seals, oil cooler gasket and oil pan gasket) to come in and everything can go back together. Those parts are scheduled to arrive on the 28th.....cutting it close with meeting my body shop appointment. i havent driven my car in about 3 months. Its been down since just before christmas, iirc.

its gonna be awhile til i get to the track and there isnt a chance in hell it'll go 12's. Not with a stock head. If i am comfortable with how the engine breaks in and after i do some checkups, i'll be taking it to the dyno the day after it runs.

I welded for about 4 years out of high school... mostly MIG welding and Oxy/Propelyne brazing of copper and a little stainless. I got my start welding catalytic converters for Eastern Catalytic, and then I moved onto a company that made metal melting furnaces for foundries where I did mostly brazing... lots of copper work. I don't have a lot of experience with TIG welding, but I can tell you from experience that those are pretty good looking welds for someone who, as you say, "will only get better". You can tell him I said I like his work! =)

Also, are they doing orange peel with the paint?
A guy told me yesterday that automakers are going back to doing that because there's more paint than water in it and over time, the paint settles and looks better. I'm kinda skeptical on that.

Well, he said he'd do it the other way if I wanted.
I've seen a lot of his work, and a lot of that was done several years ago and still holding strong.
The only alternatives are the guy who pained my 4th gen and missed clear coating several places and fixing many dents for the same price, or a guy who does better work than the factory and also charges $3000+ for just a paint job.

IMO, there are very few places that can beat a "factory" paint job.

ahh looking good blake..almosttt thereeee.
how bad is this hood again?
haha unless a good chunk of it is missing why not try and give it a nice light sanding and reclear coating for fun?

yea my lord i hate finding a good paint shop.
there are very few that do even close to factory jobs...
i got quoted around $10,000 from this outrageous, but awesomely reputable, lexus place......

the hood is pretty bad, lol. They cover a good portion of the middle of the hood. And since my car was sitting for a while, the sun put a beating on the clear coat so thats beginning to come off. Its likely going to get the BBQ grill paint treatment on the inside and outside :-P

This guy takes every thing off and paints it one by one. If it gets even the slightest knick before you get the car back, he takes that piece back off and completely re-paints it.
My friend's dad has a 01 Camaro SS that he got painted red with black stripes. That paint job was $9000 including extra coats of paint and clear coat. It's really nice but I don't see the point in dropping that much money on something like paint that's going to get knicks and scratches anyway the first time you go somewhere.
Just curious, are you getting another OEM style hood or some kind of vented one?

finally got the courage to run into vtec. Such a nice sound, lol. I havent heard that sound in 6-7 months. It's not that great up top (better than the stock motor) but the midrange is so much fun. I've got a pretty good street tune on it as of now. I need to get on the dyno so i can dial in the ignition timing.

I'm waiting on the engine to cool down some so i can change the crap autozone oil to the torco break in oil.

and i have no clue about the hood. As of now, it's not getting touched.

The wheels look good with it though.

She sounds like an angry Honda.
Get that traction issue fixed though.

the in-car and fly-by videos are just off the street tune which you see has a lot less midrange power than the final run. the amount of midrange it has now is just outstanding. I granny shifted into 2nd gear and it spun the tires all the way to the point of shifting into 3rd.

I have an appointment with a k20 EG coming soon. Maybe i will get video for it.
