So I get my ass saved from losing my license for excesive absences from shcool, 2 days later, I'm test driving a gold 01 Accord V6 coupe for my dad. Now, to begin with, I didn't really wanna drive it but the salesman pretty much talked me into it so I did. Car drove good and all so I'm on my way to bring it back. I'm on a 2 lane 1-way road in the left lane. Speed limit is 35, I'm going about 38 to get on around the car going 30. I wasing going to just kick it cause we're coming up on the police station. Well, right as our front bumpers are even, I see her blinker go on and start to turn towards me. I have 3 options:
A) Slam on brakes, have her clip me anyway, slide into the light pole, possibly get injured, and have it possibly look like my fault like I was going into her lane if she was a total bitch, and get sued.
B) Drive all up on the curb, posibly lose control of the car, hit the light pole, lose my license for wreckless driving, and have to pay for the damage done to the car or buy the car itself.
C) Kick it, hope she sees the car or the light shine off it or hear the engine and at worse, if she doesn't, she'll just knock in my door with minimal damage done.
I went with Option C. Knocked in the door and quarter panel and the door slung open. I turn into the Police station and immediately jump out to made sure she was ok. I see 3 kids in the backseat and kind've walk over there to make sure they're all ok. Everyone was fine, had on seatbelts, none of the kids even crying. She freaks out when she says "I am so sorry about your car!" and I tell her, "It's not mine. I'm test driving it." So we go inside, she admits it's her fault, she didn't see me, and her first time on that road. The cop also says thats the 4th wreck there in that exact spot in less than 2 weeks (Long story short, all the roads have been re-done. it used to be a 2 way street and everyone is confused.). Anyway, I'm half a block from the dealership, go explain what happens and the salesman was upset (Actually I think he was the owner) but not mad at me, since it's her insurance paying for it. I'm going to go get a copy of the report tomorrow or the next day just to double check everything. I'm very glad everyone got out unharmed and in a way, if it absolutely had to happen, I'm glad it was in that car because otherwise, the Lude woulda been totaled out because there was more damage to the Accord than what the Lude would be worth. All it did was bust her blinker. She had one of those steel tank 70's cars. So just a reminder, keep it safe out there and ALWAYS look where you're going. Luckily it was a slow wreck but it could always be worse.
