Some people have painted the outer bezel black.
yea what he said^ there really isnt much else to paint inside that housing. the rest of the headlight is primarily the light reflector... which you cant paint. there is that small part at the top outside corner... thats really about it.

I asked because I see a bunch of Halo/Projector Head Lights on eBay which looked pretty awesome except I heard somewhere here on the board that the visibility sucks on those lights and that retrofitting them would work out much better.
I was just trying to see if they're was a cheaper alternate method of getting lude headlights looking like this

well since you cant paint the reflector parts, there really isnt a cheaper alternative if you want to go with projectors (besides i hear those are crap). you could get them retrofitted and paint the housing. but as for a stock housing (and not doing the retrofit) this is about the most you can do to paint the inside of the headlight. ignore the retrofit just look at the outside edge of the headlight. thats the bezel edge2lyfe was talking about

this process is very simple. preheat the oven to about 400 (not sure of the exact temp) place the lights on a baking pan and throw them in for a few minutes (not sure of the exact time but i think its 2) pull them out and pry off the clear plastic piece and paint away. im sure someone will chime in with the exact time and temperature.... and how to get it back together.

400 is too high Drew...unless you've got a pizza in there too :) It's around 200 degrees for 7 minutes and you'll want to set them on a towel to protect from melting.
lol... 2 minutes at 400, 7 minutes at 200.. same difference.. lol. thanks for correcting me though. i knew i was a little off.

Apparantly it's not hard. Here's a writeup on it on PA:http://www.preludeaustralia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7532
You have to log in to view it, but it's free and PA is a nice place to spend time at. I reckon that painting them black really finishes off the front end of a 5g lude.

yeah, that'd look awesome, i've always liked body color headlights myself, but I've never looked at a 5th gen to see how much there is to paint.
BTW, they had a "retrofitting H.I.D." how-to article in the April '07 Honda Tuning magazine, the cover says "Bling-tastic", pick one up if you wanna know how to make your own.

i had a pair of projectors on my 05 f150 and the visibility sucked. the lights pointed straight down. i could only see about 15-20ft in front of me at night.
