I'm currently on the hunt for a 5th Gen Prelude. I was just wondering which model trim should I hunt for?
Here's alittle about myself:
I'm 21, married, no kids, no knowledge about cars besides putting gas in the damn thing, changing oil and installing stereo systems.
As far as what I'm looking for as features in the car:
Power everything
Sunroof
5 Speed
Black
Low mileage
Here's what I'm looking to do to the car as far as mods go:
Header - What brand is best?
Exhaust - What brand is best?
Cold Air Intake - What brand is best?
HeadUnit-Subs-Amps-Mids - 600$ Budget - Preferrably all one brand
Rims - What's the biggest size I can fit on em? 19s?
BodyKit
Spoiler
Euro Taillights or Smoked Euro's
DynaMat entire car
and that's basically it. It's gonna be a daily driver.

if you LOVE taking turns fast and really good handling, and you are positive that you aren't gonna make any serious power (>250hp'ish, whether its N/A, turbo, or supercharged) get an SH model the the Active Torque Transfer System (ATTS)
but if handling isn't AS BIG of an issue and there's a possibilty that you might wanna turbo it or whatever, get a base model.
and if i'm not mistaken, all USDM 5th gens have power sunroof, windows, locks, steering, seats(???)
thats why hondas rule. ALLL that stuff is standard on almost all of their cars

If that's the case, then I guess an SH sounds pretty good. I'm not trying to build a race car, just a daily driver that loox/sounds nice.
Another question, did any Ludes come with Leather Seats?

No power seats on 5th gens. Factory leather seats only on Canadian models. Be careful with SH models, insurance is higher.
BTW, I know the roads in Norfolk and the Tidewater area....are you sure you want 19's???
If it's going to be a daily driver stick with the factory size of 16"...17" at the most.

Interesting...
I never planned on dropping the car but I do plan to put a body kit on it(maybe the Vision Spyder Style Body Kit off of andysautosport).
I have a lip kit on one of my Kia's and it takes a beating with 16" rims...I guess I'll have to reconsider the rims size...
As far as insurance goes....I work for GEICO...lol

haha, but like most people on this board, i say nay to body kits, yay to lip kits, Greddy, WWRS, and Mugen are some aftermarket ones, but some like the OEM one best. Its all presonal preference. Also stay away from ebay body kits, ebay= ****, unless its authentic... my .02

I think I saw someone on the boards with a Mugen Lip Kit and I think I fell in love, that's probablly the one I'm gonna go with. Now to hunt for spoilers...

yeah stock spoiler or maybe mugen spoiler, like others i hate body kits on 5th gens they just make the car looked riced out and overdone, and the oem tails look best on 5th gens euro tail lamps suck, if you want something without orange in the tail you can take that piece out of the oem's. i can pm you the writeup if you like, and if i can find it.

Exhaust - Apexi N1 the best on the market
Cold Air Intake - AEM--->With the bypass
HeadUnit-Subs-Amps-Mids - 600$ Budget - Rockfort Fostgate (I'm on fusion now "I LOVE IT"
Rims - If I am you go with the 17's top 18's "the 18's on my car where so big they ****ed up my front fender.

The prelude is able to hold 18 wheels without any modifying. 19s require a fender roll, which ruins the value. Some preludes were ordered with the leather. If you get one without, you can get the seats for a good deal off ebay. Be careful if you get the mugen lip kit, there are a lot of knockoffs. The atual ones cost a fortune. There is someone with just the front bumper brand new on ebay for $700. As for the oem lip kit, try handa-accessories.com, they offer every piece for a good deal. Most of the time in the colors you want.
