I'll make this a quick and painless review.
Plainly put, this stuff works wonders.

For example, if you have old dirty headlights that look more brown than clear,
you would definitely benefit from the usage of Meguiar's PlastX.

As you can see in the pictures below, it makes a big difference.

After:

Comparison (Passenger side is dirty, driver side is cleaned already):

Both Cleaned:

Though it is not outrgeously cheap, I would still highly suggest the usage of PlastX. You can use it not just on headlights (provides a great example) but on any plastic clear trim to clear it up!

Hope that helps some of you who don't already use it yet.
If you have any questions, just post them.

*Update, sorry forgot to mention you can get it from places like AutoZone etc for maybe ~$7 last time I checcked.*

Thanks.

That stuff is great.
I've used it.
I've also tried toothpaste with a toothbrush...it worked for a bit but that stuff really removes the haze from wear.

nice writeup. :yo:

I bought this at O'reilly's auto for 7.95 i believe. This stuff really does work wonders. I used on headlights, taillights, blinkers, just about everything i could use it on and it worked great. I highly suggest using this product.

What happens if you use this on colored plastic? Could it potentially do a good job of cleaning and shining up black plastic? has anyone tried this?

For those of us who are cheap. Start off with 450 sand paper and the progress to 600, 800, 1500. You can end it at 2000 if you'd like but at that grit you aren't doing much more then the 1500.

Once you're all done and you have a semi clean surface, bust out the tooth paste. And buff away. It has very similar effect. Yet this version takes a bit longer.

yea dont use this on colored plastic...for black plastic or rubber try mothers back to black? works nicelyyy

yea sanding works well too..but id more do that when there are imperfections on the headlight that i cant wipe off...but good pointer! =]

i just found this stuff randomly laying around my garage, and everyone in my family kept telling me how horriblely cloudy/yellow my headlights have been looking, so i used this stuff yesterday.... its like a friggin NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE!!!! they literally look 10,000 times better now!!!!

it actually looks like my car is smiling now, instead of frowning

i would recommend using a coat of wax afterwards. helps protect the plast-x from the weather. also helps the headlights stay clear longer. if you sanded your headlights, this is especially true. the first time i did mine i just did the plast-x and a week later i had to redo it. when i applied a coat of wax i didnt have to redo it for quite a while. at least 3 months.

I use this stuff about every week on my passenger headlight, the only thing I noticed is that it removed the UV protection and they yellow really fast...

After reading this review and a few other I gave plastic X a shot. Let me say this stuff works great. It did take a couple times and some elbow grease but the difference was night and day.

Wish I had taken before and after pics but forgot the before.
