Sony Amps any good??

I'm looking to power 4 alpine 5 1/4" 90-100 watts rms speakers for my daily wrangler not my prelude and I was looking a some high power sony amps and I realized that the 4 channels sony amps are more affordable than the other brands why it's that? had any body experience with sony amps or are they just average over heating no good amps? I'm looking at their 500w Xplod amps which are quite cheap, but I'm afraid of them not being good for my high end 5 1/4 speakers :eek:

I had one and I used it with a sony sub and the sub ate the amp so I would'nt use one if you paid me to ever again

that's why I'm so skeptical about their cheap prices compared to others like alpine, jlaudio, pionner or kenwood which go for a little more money even if the power is less. I'm only looking to run high end 100 watts rms polk or alpine 5 1/4" speakers not subs. thanks for the heads up
