for those who are boosting what is ur oil pressure at 5 and 10 psi? i am running a 16g turbo from mitsu. and when i am boosting at a constant pressure above 5 psi the pressure is somewhere between 60 and 80 psi, and my turbo is spitting out oil and then the oil smokes. i called a tuning shop that i have been talking to for awhile and they said that the pressure is too high going to the turbo mistus should have at most 55 psi going to the turbo. i have a -3an line going to the turbo so i cant really go any lower so i was thinking about an oil restrictor to the turbo. i just wanted to see what others were running.

i didnt think oil pressure depended on amount of boost

i heard 10-20psi @ idle is normal.
startup around 190-200
65-70 @ WOT
and 80 when its warm

hopefully i'll be able to verify those results for myself in a couple weeks

oil pressure doesnt rely on the boost but it does rely on the rpm of the engine the higher the rpm the oil that is going to be going through the engine, naturally. i found out from some mitsu guys that the oil pressure should be around 55 at wot for the turbo so i went on stealthmodes site and ordered a oil line restrictor going to put it on tonight it was like 14 bucks so depending on what turbo u are running you might need to get one of those.

yea i also purchased one on sunday for $14. DEF a good investment, considering i have an XSpower turbo, not a garrett or turbonetics

i've seen some guys say "i would put a restrictor on my brand new GARRETT turbo"
